A lot of 'pot heads' and 'crack heads' were fantastic contributors to art, music, science.... I don't really know how old most of you are but I don't think you are being very tolerant here. I do believe what tweeak said was insulting. (you called him a dumbass out of nowhere! Ok maybe u two have some history but from this post it was honestly out of nowhere.)
I read that if you stop smoking at the age of 30 your body can repair itself (yes brain cells too can repair themselves) and you will be as healthy as someone who has never smoked at all.
And to my comment... I, for one, thought the cigarettes were more harmful. I had no idea that weed was more carcinogenic? I have no idea if this is right but if it is ... it's good to know!

A lot of druggies contributed to art...but so did a lot of crazy people. Then again, so did a lot of 'normal' people. So everyone contributed to art, music and science, doesn't mean that smoking weed is good. And stopping the day you turn 30 isn't really how it works. It takes up to 15 years for your body to return to normal, and your body's ability to repair itself decreases as you get older. So if you stop smoking at the age of 30, your body doesn't return to normal until you're 45.

Unfortunately, it doesn't even repair itself that fast. After ten years, a former smoker still has a higher chance of getting diseases such as lung cancer, although the risk is only half that of a person who continues to smoke. [1] I imagine the threat is still present even at 15+ years.

But it's not alright. You're wrong. And you seem to be forgetting that the resulting loss of brain cells from smoking can take a very large toll on your intelligence. Believe me, I've seen your posts before. And, once again, I will repeat for the sake of everyone, if you think you are smart, you need to act as such, not just expect people to believe you. Because they won't. I have no faith that a pothead who cannot type coherent sentences posses any kind of real knowledge at all. I wasn't trying to persuade you to quit. I honestly don't give a shit. I do think you're wrong, though, and I see no reason not to point out such. Don't just assume I'm an ignorant little girl. I can form my own opnions, and I have given you know reason for you to believe otherwise. Where there is actual value in what I say- whether you agree or not- there is not such a thing in your posts. This is a message board. That is how we judge one another (and don't give me bullshit about not judging. We all judge. You judged me too). Yes, I am opinionated. But at least on the subjects I care about, I'm typically right.

Hahaha. To be fair, when I yell at you, you typically deserve it. Amber thought it was Rachel who yelled at her, not me by the way laugh.gif

Heh, it's kind of sad. Monty, Barry, and Lisa definitely disagree. They've seen me yell a good many times on the bus this year.

I could yell at you for being so egotisical, how would that suit you?

No, you really don't. The yelling was mainly provoked by extreme tiredness that I tried to overcome with a sugar high. The combination of the two = extremely giddy and irritable. I also launched into little fits of faux rebellion. The bus told me to stop taking pictures with the flash because it might get in the bus driver's eyes. I thought it was bullshit that it could bounce off mirrors and windows (half of which were open) and into his mirror, so i took as many discreet pictures as possible. It was incredibly stupid, and I don't know why I was so annoyed.

Thus, me who doesn't yell or do dumb thigns like that is far more pleasant.

No, not so much, but you've made a good decision, so I can't completely fault you at the moment

<----------------(peep the bob marley avi)

cigarettes are worse...cuz its very addicting, and hard to stop,...i dont smoke it or like its smell very much

weed - u can love it, but shit aint chemically addicting like cigarrettes...makes u high, smells good, why not smoke weed?
of course its bad for health, but if u use it in moderation and for occasional recreation just like alcohol, whats the real harm?

oh yeah i forgot smoking shortens ur life....lol but seriously... will i keep on smokin weed when im an adult with a wife and kids and a job? of course not...
and even IF i did, would i really give a damn whether i died at age 70 or 80?.....rofl

lol and who here remembers my infamous weed thread that spawned so much hate and controversy towards me long ago?

It doesn’t matter how much or when you're going to use drug. There are too many side effects. There's more pleasure to life than that. Basically, it just affects your character, destiny, health, attitude, personality, attitude, reputation, and physical appearances. Especially, how your boss will think of you during the job interview. it’s about the whole old you. Whatever you do can lean you a different path, no matter what.

I don't think anyone here thinks it is healthy to smoke, either weed or tobacco, sorry if it comes across that way. I never said it was 'good' or 'bad'. Obvioulsy you will have side effects from any substance that enters your body including food. Anything alters your balance. And my statement about the great minds using drugs and pot was in response to this sentence.

Yes a lot of 'druggies' and 'alcoholics' as you write have contributed just as much as ''normal'' people have, which was just to note that the drugs etc may have an effect on you but that doesn't mean that you are suddenly going to stop being intelligent or having ideas. Ideas that change the whole mentality of generations to come. It may affect your intelligence but not to such an extent that you can't think anymore. Although, that obviously depends on the quantity, quality and regularity of your 'sessions'. I believe that taking a drug from time to time, is not going to have a huge effect on your health. Probably, why I considered smoking more hazardous. I guess I link smoking tobacco with chain smokers and weed with occasional weed users. And in a way, I find it unfair that weed is treated like such a terrible drug, when in reality I am more affected by the people smoking around me in public spaces. (can u believe a guy was smoking in a lift???)

But then again I would need to read a study where the two were consumed in the same exact conditions: filters, frequency and amount, to make my mind up about which is 'healthier' of the two.

I wasn't making a generalization, I was calling that kid an idiot.

Although, you really do have to wonder what allowed the Beatles to become so revolutionary. Because some of their songs...wow. It's kind of funny how drug references are overlooked just because they're the Beatles.

Hello, remember me?
I just wanted to give a little warning to anyone who gives a damn about anything anyone else has to say about stuff. Thats not many people here then...
I started weed, blah blah blah usual white christian american over-hyperbole 'I lost control, I had too drags of illegal hashish!' thats bollocks. Depending on your outlook, weed is class C and its no where near as bad as alcohol.
BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT
I used to think that, and now guess what. Oh shit I can't remember. My warning is, your mind turns to shit. I cant hold a debate any more or anything like that, because I have no short term memory. My motivation is nil and yes, 'My names Rob and I've got a problem.' Do what you want, its great fun. My rant is: don't worry about 'It'll hurt your health', actually I hate rants. Shit I'm doing a rant.
'Smoke weed every day' cypress hill (I think)
