Having some trouble with this lj stuff so who better to ask than cb? 3 questions to ask acutally one about the navi, the other about the font and the other about the title.

how do you change the title (ie from username's liejournal to something else)
why is it showing a diff font for most recent entries when i wanted it to be verdana? how can i change it?
why is the navigation only showing on the bottom of my lj? and plus there's only 2 links. 1 one site and the other about lj. what about my calender etc? is there anyways i can fix it? here's the "coding" i used

Living example can be found here until problem solved.

LASTN_HEAD<=

<head>
<title>________Fainaruu</title>
<style type="text/css">
<!--

BODY, TD {font-family: verdana; color: #FFFFFF; font-size:8pt;}
A:link {color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration:none; cursor: crosshair; font-family: verdana; font-size:8pt;}
A:visited {color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration:none; cursor: crosshair; font-family: verdana; font-size:8pt;}
A:hover {color: #FFFFFF; text-decoration:overline; cursor: crosshair; font-family: verdana; font-size:8pt;}

body {
margin-left: 50;
margin-top: 10;
background-image: url('');
background: #000000;
background-attachment:scroll;
background-repeat: repeat-y;
}

table, tr, td {
background: transparent;
}

table {
width: 350px;
border: 1px solid #FFFFFF;
}

-->
</style>
</head>
<=LASTN_HEAD

+++ plus do i need to worry about using the <=GLOBAL_HEAD stuff?
Thanks.

It's best to use the generator style when overriding livejournal

Since you have quite a few questions, rather than answering them I'll send you somewhere else. :P http://www.journalhelp.com

Thanks for the help, but I've been there and that's the coding I've taken from there to sort of shape my page. XD Oh well *sniff* Do you guys know any other help websites I could learn from?

Well, I have a little bit more time.. Try going into your profile first of all, and where it asks for the title of your journal put in whatever you want. Usually that works better than trying to put it into the code; especially if you're using something other than generator.

I was almost sure that that page would have something about the navigation links at the bottom, but I guess it doesn't.. =\ My advice is to just use Generator; you can do a lot more as far as overrides go. Heck, you can download one of the premade layouts I made and take the code apart to make a different one for all I care. You even have my permission, unlike some of the other people that I've caught doing it. wink.gif

Now, as far as the GLOBAL_HEAD thing goes, what that does is makes the code inside of it show up for every page of your LJ (friends, calendar, day, recent entries). You can either use GLOBAL, or copy it for LASTN_HEAD, FRIENDS_HEAD, CALENDAR_HEAD, and DAY_HEAD. You can see why most people prefer to just use one, right? :P

Anyway, sorry I was so flaky on you earlier, I just wanted to make sure you knew about that site in case it helped to answer some of your questions.

Also, here's a community that has lots of helpful tutorials: http://www.livejournal.com/community/everything_lj

Generator is just a layout style.. On http://www.livejournal.com/modify.bml change all the boxes under Page Layout Style to say Generator.
