I got my domain up and running (YAY!), and was able to easily install WordPress using Fantastico in the control panel. Or so I thought. I'm using a premade template from beccary.com until I know enough to create my own wordpress theme. You can see the template here.
Anyhow, when I go to my page, I get an error. QUOTE Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_header() in /home/melilyn/public_html/index.php on line 1 I'm sure there's something little that I just didn't know I had to do. How do I get my WP page to show up? |

.... Let's see... that means it can't find your header.php file! So.... Is it there is the question. I think. -didn't screw with the coding she didn't understand- ^^u

no... I just got my domain up and running today and uploaded what they told me to upload. Did I need to edit any of the files, first?

Hm. That's odd.... And no, you don't need to edit anything. It's under a new folder in the wp-content/themes (I think that's it), right?
In that case, if you didn't touch anything, it should work right. edit// In that case, the preview should've been updated too Toya. |

^ no , its just that sometimes if you updated them , and you missed on little ?> or something even smaller like ";" it will you give you errors.

Is there any way to get this installed and running WITHOUT being a PHP expert?? I mean, once it's up and running it should be fine, right? still lost... |

i think some hosting places give you a program that you can install it easilywith . Im not sure if you have that, but some places do give it to you.
Once you get it working you will be fine as long as you don't like you know mess up any templates and stuff. Post on wp/support as well , they can probly help some too. |

Yeah, I installed it with Fantastico... which was just provided on my control panel.
Maybe I'll post there, and maybe ask Heather about it, since I know she uses it. *sigh*
