I would just note the photographer or photographic credit, and the place that you got it from.

QUOTE(alli @ Sep 24 2005, 8:08 PM) thanks..but she said site it like you would site anything else..so i have no idea what my teacher is tlaking about..help!! Did she literally mean "cite it in the same fashion or style as a written work you would cite", or did she mean "a picture is like a written work in that a source for it should be provided"? |

yeah...the whole citing pic pisses me off too. i asked my teacher once if i could just taake a picture of the picture....cuz then it's technically my picture, so i don't havta site it. but she went ballistic and told me that's worse than plagarism, it's stealing. freaking gosh... havta be so anal about citing crap when no one else is gonna read the cursed papers anyways.

If I were you, I would cite the source as a website because you did find the picture on a website. Here's how to cite a website:
Name of author, editor, compiler, translator. Title or description of project. (Tab------>)Date when researcher accessed the source <Electronic address or URL of (Tab------>)source> Example: Lancashire, Ian. Homepage. 1 May 1997 (Tab------>)<http://www.chass.Utoronto..cz:8080~ian/index.html>. *Make sure that if your citation goes to 2 or more lines, that you indent them....but do not indent the first line. ![]() I hope this was of some help to you. //EDIT//I just looked at the website that you provided and realized that there's no author, editor, or artist provided so in that case, you just wouldn't put a name there. So your first thing in your citation would be the title of the name of the website ("Kids' Planet ESPECIES Animal Fact Sheets"). Again, I hope I didn't confuse you too much and I hope I helped you out some. |
