hi guys (:
im developing my own webpage right now, but i can`t seem to get any codes where a user can upload their images. i also want to know if i can have my users post journal entries. i know it has something to do with PHP, but i`ve looked all over the web & i am very confused. i have no idea what to do  can anyone help me?thanks a bunches!!! |

What do you mean? for the users post there own entrys. Like you have a blog and someone that signs up can post there own blog? or entry? or that you can post your own entrys.
explain a little more please.. |

im making a site for just me and my sister. we live on opposite ends of the earth & i want to keep in touch with her. so i want her to be able to upload pictures & write journal entries and for me to do the same.

I have an idea then.
If you have a webpage with php & mysql you can get wordpress or greymatter (greymatter requires no php or mysql ) and set it up (there blogging systems) and then you can make 2 user accounts. One for you and one for your sister. Then you both have access to blog whenever you want. |

does that mean that i don`t need my own site? & we`ll jst log into greymatter? cuhs i wanted to be able to customize the graphics & all.

Np for the help.
Yes you need your own site and you need ftp. Greymatter is easier than wordpress, and it doesn't require much. ITs just its easier for people to spam. Wordpress can load slower, its way better, harder and involves mysql . They both when you download them come with instructions on how to install them. |

i jst read that my host needs to support CGI. i dont think they do because i`m with a free host .. geocities. hmm.

Free hosts you can't use blogging systems. If you wish to blog you mostly have to do it manually unless you get freewebs?
So with geocities.. just make a page that you want your blog on , and everytime you want to blog go in the template of it (edit the html file) and type your blog yourself. If you want comments you can get this with geocities. ITs just for ppl to be able to comment you haloscan |
