QUOTE(sadolakced acid @ Sep 19 2005, 8:26 PM) shouldn't have been any fingerprints then. here's one: detectives were called to the seen of a suicide. Mr. Briggs, a large, muscular, eccentric billionare, had shot himself inside one of his small british sportcars. "you know those european cars are sealed up really well. that's probably why no one heard anything. ", commented a junior dectective. "all the doors and windows are closed, so that makes sense", said the inspector, peering at the the 22 caliber revolver in Mr. Briggs' right hand and the gunshot in his temple. "but i don't think he shot himself". why would the inspector think so? (ALL then information you need is there. don't have to ask for specifications or anything.) no one's solved it yet... and ariel, i didn't steal your answer! i started editing that before you posted |

QUOTE(Shortiiex @ Sep 19 2005, 8:37 PM) You got it! You are walking through a field, and you find something to eat. It doesn't have bones, and it doesn't have meat. You pick it up and put it into your pocket. You take it home and put it on a shelf, but 3 day's later it walks away. What is it? |

An egg.
The body of Monroe Sheld, an impoverished 60 year old painter, lay over a table in his sweltering one room apartment. A bullet had entered his right temple. On his right side, by the leg of his chair, was an old fashioned single action revolver. The table was bare except for a cracked plate, a saucerless cup, knife, fork, spoon and an overturned salt shaker. “Sheld was peddling his sketches for a dollar or two in local bars,” said Inspector Winters. “His doctor says that he was stricken with heart failure two months ago and nearly died. You might say that he ate his last meal and committed suicide.” “Correction,” said Dr. Haledjian. “There was a bit about him in today’s paper. A small, but fashionable art gallery announced a one man showing of his paintings for the next month. He had everything to live for.” Haledjian opened a small cupboard layered with dust. One plate, cup and a setting of silverware, however, were quite clean. Next he opened a paper garbage bag and sniffed. “The food was put in this bag in the last three hours, or about the time of Sheld’s death,” asserted Haledjian. “Longer than that and it would have begun to spoil and smell in this heat.” Haledjian shut his bag. “I wouldn’t close this case quite yet, Inspector. Sheld had a dinner guest who tried to cover up his presence here.” What made Haledjian so certain? |

QUOTE(ChellyDasWassup @ Mar 25 2005, 5:10 PM) here is another.... what crawls in the morning...has 2 legs in the afternoon...and 3 legs in the evening? i think thats how it goes Sry if I skipped any but this is the first one I saw that i actually knew. It's a man. When he's a baby he crawls, a child/adult he walks on two legs, and when he's really old he uses a cane. That comes from Oedipus. |

i know thats not the right riddle, but it think that's the right answer. it's the wrong riddle because it says morning, afternoon, and evening. a human couldnt possibly grow in that short amount of time. as for my riddle... What has roots that nobody sees, and is taller than trees. Up, up it goes, and yet it never grows. What is it? |

It looks the right one. A man crawls in the morning of his life, the beginning; That's what it's implying. Two legs in the afternoon, the middle of the day, the middle of his life. Then three legs in the evening. The man is now old and uses a cane. The cane counts as his 'leg'. |

You might have heard it as "What has 4 legs in the morning, 2 legs in the afternoon, and 3 legs in the evening?" . Oh well, I guess it's some variation of it.

QUOTE(Azn Kid from NY @ Jan 30 2005, 6:41 PM) post some really hard riddles, heres mine: a detective found a dead man sitting at his desk with a gun in his hand, and a tape recorder was on his desk...the detective came in and picked up the tape recorder and pressed the play button...he heard "i am sick of my life. i have no purpose to live" and then a gunshot. the detective instantly knew it was murder, not suicide. how? dont read this if you dont want the asnwer spoiled. because if the man killed himself, he wouldnt be able to take the tape out becasue he was dead. because there was the sound of the gunshot at the end of the tape, we knew the man was killed before the tape was taken out, so the dead mean couldn't possible have taken the tape out, unless he did it when he was a ghost!! okay. i have threee riddles. 1.ralph, a blind man, had just had surgery that made him no longer blind. he payed so much money to have the surgery that he was so happy when he realized it was successful. ralph decided he would take subway back to his house. there was one other person on the subway besides him. as the subway went into a tunnel, there was a gunshot. the other person on the subway was stunned. ralph had just killed himself. why did ralph kill himself? 2. alright, so you're in a plane, investigating a case. first you fly over many mountains, and then you reach a desert. laying in the middle of the desert is a pile of clothing. as you fly farther, there are two naked men lying in the sand--dead. what happened? 3. a man is hosting a party. in the middle of the party, when all his firneds are i the living room, he pulls a sword out of a box. this is what he says to his friends, who are all amazed. "My grandfather passed this down to me. He was awarded this sword when he was in world war one." the man read alound what was engraved on the sword. "To Wichterstein, (lol, i know) the best soldier who fought in worl war one." then the man stood up and asked if any of his friends wanted to buy the sword for a lot of money. one of the man friends stood up. "YOu are a liar." he said. why did this man think he is a liar, IS he a liar???? |

1. He thought he was going blind again, and he used all of his money for the surgery.
2. I'm guessing they were travelling, found it was too hot so they took their clothes off, and then died from the heat. I dunno. 3. During WWI, they didn't know there was going to be another WW. They called it the Great War, I believe. |
