Age is just a number. I don't think there should be any rules restricting people from dating because of their age.

I think I'd rather stick with people my age, 4 years difference max. It's just .. weird to be dating someone that could know so much more and could easily take advantage of you.

i live in jersey & I think like most of the other states (except obviously for hawaii) adults over 18 cant date anyone under 18 (its either that or u cant date anyone two years older or younger than u but then again my best friend said they changed it to 4 years so freshmen can date seniors but idk) so i stick with guys who r around my age range. im 14 so ill date 14-16 year olds. the oldest ill date is 17 but my best friend whos 15 was dating a 22 year old from the place she worked (shoprite) & they had sex a couple times & hes in jail now for a couple years for being a "sex offender".

yeah cause in your friends case, thats illegal. they tried to changed the law in hawaii but the bill never got passed. but the change was only going to be to 15 not 14. so yep. idk cause 14 is low and like its no wonder all these kids in hawaii are hit on by old people.

In the U.S. (minus Hawaii, I guess) it isn't illegal for a minor to do anything BUT sex with anybody 18+. Only the sex is illegal. And then, it's really only illegal if you press charges...

yeah. i was only talking about the sex part in like the states... cause i know everywhere in the U.S. its not illegal for minors to date adults. If the parent has a problem with it, the parent of the minor can control the situation. But in Hawaii if your under 14 and get pregnate by an adult, its against the law. stupid guys in my neighborhood are just werid..they are like 20+ years old hitting on random minor girls. and there were 2 rapes in my area during the same week. but not all guys are like that. i hope.

3 years isn't exactly a big a** age gap at all because when you're 34 or something and are married to a 31 year-old, it's not really a big deal.

My grandma and grandpa are 10 years apart and they didn't seem to have many problems. I don't think age matters. Love is love aka mental compatability and the number of years you've existed on this planet should have no impact on it.

okay, so hawaii isnt the only one in north america who has that law.
i wouldnt be suprised that you only have to be 14 in canada because
they are pretty leaneant(sp). like with the movie ratings, t.v ratings, etc.
i remeber they couldnt show one degrassi episode where manny gets
an abortion in the U.S. because it was innapropriate or w.e but still,
14...i mean they already let EVERYONE date ANYONE, they should
make the age be like 18/17 for sex because i mean when you turn
