Of course there's a backlight on the screen.. I wanted to know if there was one on the Click Wheel. It'd be cool if there was.

damn.

that's all i've got to say.

i also want to say: it's not fair to other manufacturers that apple cuts exclusive deals for memory: in the high capacity hard drives and in the cheaper flash memory.

and am i the only one who things the proportions on that thing just make it look... absolutley mutated/hideous?

I don't have a problem with how it looks personally. It looks "mutated" because they made the circle in the click wheel larger, and the device itself smaller. So it looks different from what where r used to seeing in an ipod.

Personally, I'll be waiting a while, hoping for a price cut. the 20 gig ipod is only around 50 dollars more, and its able to hold 4,000 more songs.

If the price goes down enough, its the ipod for me.

I somewhat agree, Justin. I saw it and didn't like the way it was so long and skinny withh all that space between the screen and wheel or that the wheel was skinny and the button in it really big

I don't know that any-one  company has "rights" to a name such as Nano, or Mini. There are alot of devices that use the names, so I don't think Zen & apple are going to go at it about that...Although in the key note, Steve did go after quite a few, including Zen, competitors on the issues of size and storage. So yea, the Nano is aggressive.  laugh.gif
yes, I think the color did change, however I am not sure if its just image quality.

I would think that Creative would have trademarked the name "nano."

I was describing the pictures. I haven't seen the real thing. I went to the apple store last Sunday and there were still minis on display, with no sign of the nanos to come.

i have to admit tho, that thing would feel nice in the pocket.

i just wish that the flash mem would be sold to other manufacturerer (i.e. iriver) at the same price.

i wouldn't be pissed at apple about this if they'd bought the flash mem at full price. but cutting a 50% off deal with samsung...

well, suffice it to say i don't like samsung anymore either.

not so much as the products, but the exclusive flash mem deal at a far lower price than other devices.

the nano looks like you'll have a hard time scrolling it and holding it so it won't fall out of your hand... at least that's what the positioning of the wheel looks like to me.

one cool thing the wheel should be is you should be able to combination lock your ipod... and you could spin the wheel to input the numbers...

that would be soo cool.

I must admit, I'm somewhat amused by the amount of personal disgust you bring into the issue of MP3 players. _smile.gif

I just got my iPod mini last Friday and I'm glad. The iPod nano looks like it will break in a second... but I guess if anything ever happens to my mini, I'd get one.
