I know you weren't talking directly to me but I think half of the people who said eyeliners are hot didn't say they were right. I think they were just stating their opinions (I'm sure you knew that). To me an automatic turn-off is too much chest hair or leg hair on boys. GROSS. But I think eye liner is hot.

Oh well. You know, now that I think about it, there are SOME boys who look horrible with eyeliner. So now I guess my answer would be, pale boys look hot with eyeliner. The reason behind isn't something racist... it's just that.. I can't imagine a black guy or an asian guy wearing eye liner. He has to be pale to look hot with eye liner. (Even though some asians are pale...)

They can, if they want to, but they're going to look stupid. And more importantly, they're going to look like they are trying to conform to their ideal of noncomformity, which is moderately pathetic.

I don't think trying to conform their ideal of noncomformity is pathetic. And I think everyone is different. They don't have to try to conform cuz they already are different. Wearing eye liner for boys isn't comforming cuz a lot of people do it... well in my place yeah a lot of boys do it. And what if they wear eye liner because they think it's fun? Some people wear eye liner because sometimes NOT to try to conform but for fun.

How do you know if they're trying to comform themselves? Did you ask them? And if you're gonna say they might be lying may I ask again HOW DO YOU KNOW??????? Sure it seems like an odd chance that they're not lying but hey, who knows? I hang out with emo people and they tell me they wear eye liner cuz it's a "punk rock/morbid" bond thingy for them. I don't know what made you think they're just trying to be different. You never know unless you ask. You really shouldn't underestimate people like that and predict their personality even though it seems like their trying to be diffrent.

Of course I'd think that. ANYONE would assume that if you keep attacking emos and saying how they always try to comform from other people. As another emo I wear eye liner for a reason, I wear black attires for a reason, I am depressed for a reason and it's not to act different but because for once in my life I feel free from a cage I lived my whole life. I've been around it long enough to know that emo isn't lining your eyes in black and saying "Woe is me, woe is me, the world is such a bad place and my life sucks" and going to great lengths to draw attention to this fact, like the bastardization of emo is today. Go back in time ten, fifteen years ago--emo artists didn't wear black eyeliner and bitch and moan. That's not what emo is about, and yes, I think anyone who painstakingly tries to conform to that "standard" is just trying to fit in by not fitting in to mainstream culture.

Don't give me this shit that "I'm emo because I'm depressed" because a) emo isn't about being depressed and mopey all the time and b) it's a disservice to people who truly do suffer from depression.

Thank the Lord someone actually said that, but you see depression and having a dark personality has inspired dressing this way. Depression causes you to think in a more gloomy, under the weather way, causing you to possibly feel more comfortable dressing in black. Some people take it to a further extreme. Unfortunately, those idiots that wear black, tight women's jeans, eyeliner and pretend to be depressed and whatnot exist and will always exist. WELCOME TO POSERVILLE. Emo is no longer a culture.
