Yes, I've seen that a lot, around here people call really dark kids "tar babies". I don't think it's cool at all, and real dark skin can be REALLY pretty, just like really pale skin can be pretty too.

It seems to me that teens these days look for every excuse to make fun of another. They usually do it in front of their buddies.

Yeah...I used to get made fun of when I was younger, but not because I'm dark...because I'm light, "yellow." I'm not Black enough, apparently.
