im a freshmen, and im so woried because everyone says im goin to get beat up because im not quite goth, but not normal. idk. help? post, too!

I'm kidding, of course. Don't worry much about it. Goth or normal, freshmen are never popular, whether it be high school or a college campus, so there's not much to do. Just go with the flow. Best advice: be satisfied and comfortable with who you are, project an image of confidence and being "in place" (even if you feel a lack of confidence or feel like you're out of place) and act like you know where everything is, who everyone is, and are comfortable with your surroundings, and you'll be fine.

I'm going to be a freshman as well, it shouldn't be that bad for the first week or so... there's a whole grade that's in our shoes at our schools so you can relate.

Don't worry about being a freshman. Just go with the flow, and like D1SMANTLED said, there is a whole grade that's going through what you're going through, so don't worry. Just try not to get in trouble or mess with upperclassmen (although some will be nice hah). And, it really doesn't matter if you're a goth or normal. And, no one really beats up freshman, only if you get yourself into trouble. So, don't worry, be yourself and have fun.

just remember, every other freshmen in your school wants to find friends also. Don't be afraid to jump into conversations or groups if you've got something to say. Don't be shy about approaching people, you gotta take the initiative! Be confident, and get to know others! =]

I'm a freshman student and i dont have any experience yet since i'm still on summer vacation.

Well for me, i usually ignore random stupid people who just talk crap at me for NO resonable reason. I just act like i'm very deaf and happy while i'm walking through the campus. Also, i act like nothing has happens yet and act like i'm busy itching my skin or something.

to all the freshman: don't worry! i spent all last summer freaking out about if i was going to be accepted, would i like the school, etc etc, but i ended up loving it cause i was myself and made awesome friends who had similar interests as i did. so don't try to be anything you're not. it'll all work out for the best:D.

don't worry. high school is just like grammar school -- just more drama. it won't be as hard as you think it to be. i'm sure you'll be well liked there and you'll make a lot of friends. just keep it cool, 8) and don't worry about it too much.

Man, it seems like such a long time ago when i was a freshman. But hey, no worries about it ok? It's not as bad as you think. and you are NOT going to be beat up because ur not gothic? lol. Just chill and try to enjoy your first day of school. Highschool is different then middleschool but i'm sure you'll adapt quickly, it's not scary at all. trust me :) Have a good time!

I come from a really small school...we just don't have those kinds of problems, almost everyone seems to get along. There aren't enough people to hate anybody. Yeah, being a freshman isn't so bad. Don't fret it.

I think it's funny when people say you get beat up as a freshman. No matter what grade you're in, you still have a chance of getting beat up. And people just see you as a young, immature newcomer because it's your first year of high school. As you move up in grade levels, you earn more respect and it gets more fun.

Just go with an attitude that you're there to have a good fun year and make new friends and you'll be set

i don't have to experience the 'youngster' phase till next year, since my school goes up to 9th grade. not sure if it's a good thing to put it off lol.

but i'm sure there'll be lots of ppl in your situation, so you can make friends with them. but remember, not all ppl are stereotypical

Yeah I just started my freshman year 3 weeks ago...I had one threat about Freshman Friday (never happened)--and it was from an older friend that was kidding. So yeah, I don't know if your schools different but from here, but I know they don't really pick on freshman here...it's not so scary.

speaking from how it is like at my highschool --
you wont get beat up by appearance. only if you talk shit start shit or act fake, among a few other things .you get beaten to pulp of pulp
