Here are launch prices for past consoles.

Year System Launch Price
1977 Atari VCS $249.99
1985 NES $199.99
1989 Sega Genesis $249.99
1990 NeoGeo $699.99
1991 SNES $199.99
1993 Jaguar $249.99
1993 3DO $699.95
1995 Sega Saturn $399.99
1996 N64 $199.99
1999 Dreamcast $199.99
1995 Playstation $299.99
2000 PS2 $299.99
2001 XBOX $299.99
2001 Gamecube $199.99

I think we can guess where the Revolution is going to be priced at. $300 is the most I'd pay for a console at launch.

i'm assuming that there will be gyros that will be used to control...  like driving games and such, you turn the whole controler...

so i'll be trying to chop off some guy's head and then i tilt the controler and fall off the edge.

It's speculated that the revolution will have gyroscopes that will make the controller resist being tilted. So maybe the Revolution's controller won't kill you. Read the entire article for the full explanation.

But that 300 will give you a crappy 360 package. And we won't even start how expensive the ps3 will be.

Yeah, $400 is too much for me. Plus, the bare systems are probably going to be sold out first, so only the more expensive bundles will be available.

I have to doubt that very much. The 400 one is the only one worth buying, and essentially will probably be the one bought more.

Although despite this I think both versions will be sold out come evening Nov22.

When I say bare, I mean non bundled. I'm expecting the 360 to be sell out at launch.

Gamestop and EBgames has them too.

Lol, even on the reviews, people are arguing between the PS3 and 360.

i think the controller looks weird but they wouldn't leave it like that if it wasn'twell-made so i think it'll be fine.

I like the size. Very nice in fact. I also think that the Revolution will be $200. It would seem a little weird if Nintendo made us pay 300 or 400 for a console.

i highly doubt that. i think they would put it up to 300. i mean it is a next gen console. the 360 is 400 and mostlikely the ps3 would be higher than that.

Iwata just went on record to say the Revolution will most certainly cost less than $299 USD.

Technically, the Gamecube was a Next Gen Console when it first game out in which it was 300. As for the PS3 and 360, Sony loves to overprice and Microsoft.....well yea.

the revolution's really the only next-gen system i might buy.

anyways, think of the people who would play on an x360 or a ps3. now think of the people who'd play on a rev.

i dunno, but i'd rather have a cheaper, smaller, more different system that everyone would play.

What sort of judgement are you making about people who would buy an Xbox 360 or PS3, vs. those who would buy a Revolution?
