I was wondering if i can still eat gummy fruit snack with my braces. It's chewy. I'm afraid to break my braces bracket. i've been breaking my braces 2 times by eating hard food but not anymore.

If no, why ?

What the heck ? It's GUMMY. It's not even chewy.. just gummy. It can't break your brackets.

Hm. I don't have braces but I wouldn't chew something gummy or anything. Too risky.

just chew and swallow.. dont worry about it. if you're that worried just ask ur dentist. it shouldnt break unless the material of your braces are bad.

But it's kind of rough(strong) and flexible. It takes time to separate the gummy into pieces.

i eat everything the orthodontis says not to eat rolleyes.gif gummy candy hasn't made my brackets fall off, but it does take a long time to chew into pieces. so i would say yes, just don't go crazy and eat it too much or whatever.

I have braces and I'm a total addict to gummi candies. None of my brackets have broken off and I've had my braces for about 2 months. Just remember that the gummi candy can get stuck easier and they stick to your teeth so you should brush after to prevent cavities.

I don't think it'll be a problem. If you're still afraid, then just ask your orthodonist.

I think it's okay, but make sure you chew properly and brush your teeth afterwards.

When I had braces I only broke a bracket once.

That's because I was hit in the face with a gun... mellow.gif

I doubt softer gummies will break your brackets, however they gummy stuff will get stuck between your braces and teeth, so make sure to brush really well and/or chew some orthodontic gum

they, meaning the orthodontists, sometimes exaggerate a *bit*. i mean, i chew gum and eat gummy things and my brackets haven't fallen off yet. scratch that..one has so far but that was for another reason. [that was not my fault, i assure you]
