i think, mayhaps, there should be a synopsis of backstage or something.

i know the need of backstage and the need that members don't know what's going on back there... 

but i think there are some things that it wouldn't hurt for members to know about (although letting them reply to it would be bad), so how about a closed thread where someone will post what's happening in backstage each day so all the mystery and controversy about backstage is cleared up?

i think it's more of the fact that members don't know what's being said backstage and that's what's bothering them.

The backstage is access for admin/staff/mods. Not for members.
It's sole purpose is just for those mentioned.

It's just so non of the mods lie.. about taking a break or something. Mods have done that before.. The Admins are watching.

Yes I do. He is one of my hostees on my personal website. Plus I talk to him over AIM and have spoken to him on the phone. I would not have stated it had i not known him.

It is. However, trying to understand is one thing, but to judge before you understand is another. So far, a lot of people question our competence when they have no idea of what goes on. To be fair, you'd have to see this from our perspective.

Did you miss the part about putting yourself in another person's shoes?? That wasn't an attack against the mods. That was for EVERY person. Alvin, you, me, the mods, the members. I feel like you missed a great deal of what I said and took it very offensively when it wasn't supposed to be offensive or an attack towards the mods at all.

Edit:://And about the whole McDonald's thing. There are several people who have written complaints. Don't even start with me. I haven't written one, but good lord...they try to get their costumers involved. ÇB and McD's still are different--one serves food--the other serves blogging needs and has a forum.

I believe that almost all of you do meet most if not every one of those qualifications--but that the idea needed and needs to be reinforced to the CB society and society in general . Don't assume I stated it to *attack the mods* blah. That was not the point. The point was to reinforce the idea and how I realized that through just this thread.

I wasn't offended by your post, I was just wondering if you know what's going on. When I said "you'd have to see it from our perspective", I meant a general you, not just you-you. Though you did say to put ourselves in others shoes, unfortunately, no one actually does that. You know why it's important that members see it from our perspective? Well, because we've all been members before and we know what it feels like so why would we need to put on members' shoes when we've been there? The fact that members do not understand what the staff does is why I said you'd have to see it from our perspective. If I wasn't clear, sorry.

It's generally called the service industry; no one cares what goes on in the process of getting the goods or services, they just care about the goods and services. If you want an example more like createblog, how about xanga? And what about McDs trying to get their customers involved? What are you saying?

I NEVER said, or think, you attacked the mods. Where are you getting this? I just asked whether or not you think we meet the qualifications you listed. That is the point of this thread, to say whether or not we're doing something wrong, and that's why I asked. Don't have a cow.

Maybe but I believed him and saw his work and I saw that by becoming my hostee he is a good edition to my site--but he also used the ability to have a subdomain as an opprotunity to improve dramatically.

I think it's worth it in the end, because it has helped him improve as a person, a hostee, and a designer. By making him my hostee I was able to instruct him on some things. I like to help people.

To all mods that I have previously IM'd or PM'd. I am sorry for being so annoying and frustrating by pming you all and telling you how qualified I was and how bad I wanted to be a moderator. I did that because I felt like I wasn't being noticed, and I was very impatient. But now I remember the words of my sweet beloved grandmother "Patience is the Virtue". This is not to suck up, but this is the right thing to do. So I hope you moderators find it in your heart to forgive me.

I'm not dedicating my life to become a mod on cb? It's just an online forum. I just thought I would make a good one because I was dedicated, and worked really hard. But that's not my desicion. And I think the only reason all of you mods don't want me to become one is because you think I'm annoying or either it's because of those PM's and IM's that I sent.
