first of all, go to my xanga

in the box, when ur mouse point to some links the words will turn white with a brown background right? even though the visited links. however, those links under the box, check it... if u put the mouse over the visited link, the words didnt turn white, it stayed gray. it still has a brown background though... i'm just wondering if my code got something wrong with it...

sorry if it's kinda confusing. i hope someone can help me. thanks!!!

Nothing is wrong with your code it's just how you customized the links and such of it in your style sheet.

The only part you really need to edit the links is this part
CODE
a:visited, a.footernav:visited, {
/* edits the links that the user has visited */
text-decoration: none;
color:#444444;
font: normal 8pt tahoma
}
a:hover {
/* edits when user mouseovers the links */
cursor: ne-resize;
text-decoration: none;
color:#ffffff;
font: normal 8 pt tahoma;
background-color:#733D1A;
filter:blur(add="0",direction="90",strength="4"); height:0;
}

The only color I really saw was gray was this part the 444444
CODE
}
a:visited, a.footernav:visited, {
/* edits the links that the user has visited */
text-decoration: none;
color:#444444;
font: normal 8pt tahoma
}

I guess you can try changing it to white.

i want the visited link to be grey... i only want the text color to be white when the mouse move over the link. just like the others in the box, or entries...

is this too confusing?

I guess you can try this
CODE
<style type="text/css">
a:hover, a.footernav:hover, {
/* edits the links that the user has visited */
text-decoration: none;
color:#ffffff;
font: normal 8pt tahoma
}</style>

So you want it say the normal link is black and you want it to turn white?
Is that what you're asking?

well, lets say my normal link is black, the visited link is grey, and when the mouse over the link is gonna be white. the links in the box, no matter what kinda links are those, like visited or normal, when i put the mouse over the link, it turns white. however, the links at the very bottom of the page (like xanga, join, upgrade, skin, about, etc...) those are differents. try to click one of those, so that it will be visited, then go back to my xanga page, and try to put the mouse over it. it has the brown background, but the text is grey, not white...

i can make some pics of what i'm talking about if u need.

thanks so much for trying to solve my problem.

Here I think I solved your problem try using this code.
CODE
<style type="text/css">
a:link, .footernav.link, a.footernav:link, a.footernav:active {
/*not visited, not hover*/
font-size:12px;
font-family: arial;
color:661100;
text-decoration:underline;
cursor:default;
background-color:#733D1A;

}
a:visited, .footernav.visited, a.footernav:visited, a.footernav:visited {
/*visited, not hover*/
font-size:12px;
color:#444444;
text-decoration:underline;
cursor:default;
background-color:#733D1A;

}
a:active, .footernav.active, a.footernav:active, a.footernav:active {
/*when clicked on*/
font-size:12px;
text-decoration:none;
cursor:default;
background-color:#733D1A;

}
a:hover, .footernav.hover, a.footernav:hover, a.footernav:hover {
cursor: ne-resize;
text-decoration: none;
color:#ffffff;
font: normal 8 pt tahoma;
background-color:#733D1A;
filter:blur(add="0",direction="90",strength="4"); height:0;

}</style>
