John McCain is a respectable politician. I'd seriously consider voting for him if he ran for president. He's a good man because generally, he speaks his mind--although on some crucial issues he does tend to capitulate and toe the party line, even when he disagrees.

See, I've always respected McCain. I very typically vote democrat, but would honestly vote for McCain if he ran. However, since he got that beating by the rumors that were spread by Bushco and The Rove Machine…he has kinda been like a dog with his tail between his legs. He used to stand up for what he believed in...even, especially, when they conflicted with bush. And now...not so much. I'm afraid that despite the fact that Vietnam couldn't break McCain...the Bush Administration may have. It's very sad...truly.

Hey hey there stars.

And I would consider voting for McCain as well. But first he'd kinda have to prove that he hasnt' become zombified. That he's still willing to stand up for what he, and the american people, believe in.

I believe I can answer it for you. You have read some posts and have painted me as a liberal, and you probably believe that I blindly follow the Democratic Party and don't really examine things for myself.

Not all of us simply toe the party line.

Besides, I wouldn't call myself a liberal. However, compared to the Bush Administration's ultra-conservatism, anyone who is moderate looks to be an extreme left-wing liberal.

A. I did not paint you as a full blown dem, I just thought you were slighty a dem.
B. I did/do not think that you blindly follow the party or whatever. You seem to..ok smart..to do that...You think things through
C. Why does everything always have to be right or left winged? Seriously...that's just something i've wondered...

Not everything is right wing or left wing. There are moderates (like myself) out there. A lot of them, in fact.

The Bush administration has done a lot to polarize the country and bring out the extremes in both sides since 2001, though. Not to point fingers, of course, but things have been much more split between Democrats and Republicans since Bush took office.

Wow, i can't believe how much our opinions on this seem to mirror eachother. I'm impressed. I hope you don't mind a moderate partner in the debate forums. lol

But you are 100% right, this country has rarely been so polarized as it is under bush administration policies. And slowly but surely, even the conservatives are beginning to doubt their leader. I think the recent election in ohio shows that the RNC may be in a bit of trouble.

Yes, Her name is Cindy Sheehan. She has been a central figure in the protesting movement against the war...and is a prime example how someone can respect the troops but oppose the war. I think our troops over there are hero's personally…I think that they are shining examples of freedom and liberty…but I think our government has used them for it's own agenda's…instead of agenda's that benefit the entirety of the American people. *shrugs idley* Just an opinion, but one that seems to be growing in number...if you view the current presedential approval polls.

---- back to subject ----

Like, her son died over in Iraq, and she's mad cause he died when He went over there willingly cause he thought the war needed to be fought.

That sounded extremely biased, but seirously, thats pretty much it. I'll google it lata.

Actually she didn't support the war before he died. And her son truly didn't either...but respectfully went to do his duty.

He did originally feel that it should have been fought, but then he began to find out that the reasons for going to war were entirely false. He began to feel like he had been lied to, and began to feel as if he shouldn't be there. But, he was a soldier and respected his duty.

LOL...damn you! This is the one that I'm not sure exactly where I got the information from.

Disregard that comment, due to my inability of proof.

It was either from Conyersblog.com, afterdowningstreet.org, rawstory.com, or salon.com

I read each of them on a daily basis.

Edit: This isn't quite a match, but the closest I could do immediately.

"When we buried my son, I vowed to him I would tell the truth, this war is a betrayal of our military and of the democracy they seek to protect," she remarked. "I am here to uphold the honor and memory of my son, Sgt. Sherwood Baker and insist that we find accountability for this conflict and bring the troops home now.” -Cindy Sheehan, Rawstory.com

Heh, no offense hun...but Fox news has been proven time and time again to be biased. They were the one's who said that bush had won the election before the final results had even been completely tallied.

I used to watch fox news all the time, but now it's become almost comically referred to whenever someone talks about biased media.

:)

Thanks for the links hun, just saying...if you're going to refer to the first as biased, and then mention bill o'reilly...it just seems somewhat biased of a statement in and of itself.

fox is biased

but kristina did say that the bill o'reilly link was for the right-side....so she knew it was biased.
