For the second question, there's not a clear way to do that. I'm guessing you can't with the way you've configued it... Maybe I'll try to work something out. The line height probably has to do with it being pushed up.

well the background would change the whole part (all the links and blah blach words) that color, and i just want the titles "navigation" & "info area" to have the light grey bkgrnd like the blog header.
