if they really are good actors, they will, like normal people, get emotional or sad, naturally, during the scene. or like others have said, they might think back onto something that was really sad...

When you act, you think of what your character would feel. To make it look real, try to remember something really sad that happened in your life that made you cry and it'll make you cry on stage. (^__^)
