Here is the run down of the mess that I'm in...

I know this guy, Friend O, for about half a year when school started last year. Now things were always...kinda flirtatious between the two of us. He'd flirt with me and I'd flirt back, but we never took things to the next level; it was all in good fun. Then in October, I got a boyfriend and didn't flirt as much with him as before, however we still flirted from time to time. When the boyfriend broke up with me a month later, he helped me out through a couple of tough spots and I started to develop feelings for him.

I also have another friend, Friend M, whom I've known for about...six years. She goes to a different school, so our friendship kind of drifted apart. Also, we've had a couple of arguments and misunderstandings between the two of us, so our friendship wasn't as great as before. However, we were still friends and talk on MSN from time to time.

Now while all this is happening, Friend M and Friend O started seeing more and more of each other and both have develop feelings for each other as more than just friends. I didn't know this until later. At this time, I was developing feelings for Friend O, but I didn't know what to do with those feelings, so I just let them be. Friend M invited me to her house one day during the Christmas break, and out of niceneess, I invited Friend O along with me. While I was in the washroom, Friend M gave Friend O a letter saying that she wants him to be her boyfriend, and Friend O said yes. Again, all this I didn't know til later.

After a couple of weeks since that incident, Friend O announced that he was official with Friend M, and my initial reaction was to be jealous and avoided Friend O for a good while. I guess I just didn't realize my feelings for Friend O.

Then after a couple of weeks, I decided to act like everything was normal and that I can go on flirting and having fun with Friend O as he was perfectly fine with that. Things started to get more and more serious for me, and I was starting to realized that I was starting to have a real, serious crush on Friend O even though I know that he would never like me more than a friend and that he was with Friend M. And I know that it's wrong to flirt and like your friend's boyfriend, but I pushed that all away and went on as usual, flirting and leaning on him every time I get. Friend M was okay about all this as she knew that things would remain just friends between us.

Then summer came and I went on flirting and having fun with Friend O. I phoned him on a semi regular basis and even stayed up making his birthday present for him. He liked it of course. But...he knew that I liked him; he asked me and I told him precisely how I felt about him. We had a serious talk in which he asked me to stop treating him more than a friend and just act normal around him. He aslo asked me to forget all my feelings for him.

Now the problem that I have is...how do I act normal around him once school starts and to forget my feelings for him? Also, I don't want things to be weird and awkward between us, so I was wondering what I should do to minimize that.

Sorry for the long read and any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just tell him that it's not like you want to like him.
I've been there. Except he didn't tell me to quit
liking him. Explain to him that you want nothing
but good for him and that you wouldn't do anything
to harm his relationship.

I personaly think it's shady that once you like him
he doesn't want you attention anymore.

Eh.. Been in that situation. You cant just drop your feelings about him. But you could try and find other feelings with someone else. Try talking to your friend about the situation. Im sure she will understand.

Good Luck

I can see your avator really goes along with your words 0.0;;

Get over him because he already have a girlfriend that he likes.
It's not nice to take advantage of your friend's bf because of your emotions.

hmm. well, this is a toughie. pinch.gif if i were yuu, i would [to make things less awkward] tell him that yuu don't like him that way anymore. now, of course where would this put yuu? take his advice and try to forget about yuur feelings. I know this will be hard, but in the long run it will be better, because if yuu continue flirting, it will become more serious and it'll just bring jealousy and chaos into their relationship, not to mention more heartbreak for yuu in the future.

besides, it's human nature. yuu'll always want what yuu can't have. tongue.gif I say try to control yuur feelings and go for another guy. there are alot of fish in the sea. just don't go for the taken one.

it's hard to get over someone so quickly, don't flirt with him so much or maybe not anymore. cause if you keep doing it, it's gonna make you fall harder for him. try finding someone else to get close to, or just get over it

First off, just stop flirting with him. Thats just wrong. I say hang out with your friends or pick up a new hobby. Trust me, he'll like you more if you don't act jealous instead make it like its no big deal. When he has problems you can help him, like he helped you.

how is that shady? he wants her to stop liking him because he doesn't like her that way back.

you just have to get over it...you know that he doesn't want you to like him. this will pass, you feel close to him because he helped you through your crappy break up and you two bonded. that's how i started to like my current boyfriend. but it doesn't always work like that. he's with your friend and even if your friend is a crappy friend sometimes, she's still your friend.

just try to realize that you can't have him, there are plenty of more men out there who will be a hell of a lot cooler than you think he is. do it for the both of them and in time, you'll get over it.
