I always find myself about to tell a story about someone, and sometimes it just so happens that they're from cB.

So I'm like "well my friend, I mean, someone I know," and then I'd tell it. Except that when people are like "oh, which friend?" or like, "how'd you know them?" I never know what to say. "Uhhh they're from an online forum?" doesn't really fit it. Because I feel like I really know the people on cB, or that they really are my friends. Does anyone else get into this awkward situation?

Or do you just say "a friend" and leave it at that... blink.gif

Oh, I get that a lot. I usually just say "a friend of mine" and they'd never ask. But if they do I go "well, this friend from online" and yeah. >_>; It just feels so awkward because I don't know them IRL and I'm telling stories about them.

My sisters knows about me being on cB a lot, so I just say, "my friend" and they would say, "where", and I'd have to say "createblog". Must she know where they are from?

Well I would just be like.. "i know someone that blah blahs" and then they would be like "oh, who is it?" and i would just say their name.

But if they get into detail and ask me, I would just say that I saw their site online. it's kind of weird telling them about an "online forum" or explaining what cb is.

Yeah, haha, I do that sometimes. I just say a friend, but sometimes they ask what friend. I'll just tell them I talk to people on forums hehe.gif

i do it most of the time...but she doesn't know that...but i did somehting about her that she asked me to do
I said there was a problem my friend is having
but really it was my friend's friend and they both go to CB
so my friend didn't want to post her friend's problem b/s she will get pissed at my friend
so i say it was my friend(and i changed teh story a bit)
turns out my friend's friend already posted her issue

did i just get off topic?

Yeah, it's hard to say that my friends are from an "online forum"....so I just say "friend that I know." It works...most of the time. :D

Sometimes my friends will be like "who's that? where do they go to school at?" I'm like.. "don't ask questions. Shuddup and let me finish." Works for me ;)

I start it off by saying "one of my online buddies". It's not weird in Indiana, it's so boring here we make friend through the internet, people I know will go to spin the bottle or w/e its called. I don't go that far. Most of the time I'm talking about Jeffery though, and it's about computer stuff.
