listen to her songs and it's obvious she's not a poser. she's just dressing the way she does and singing things she feels...
the fact that half of her songs are mushy (first album) kinda kills the whole pretending to be punk thing. |

she's strange. when she first started singing,. she kept saying how "ungirly" she was ans she listened to no one. all she wor was pants and a t-shirt. now shes got curly blonde hair and i see her wear skirts alot more. not a girls girl? right -_-;;

When I wear a tie, I don't think of it as Avril-like, I think of it as, "Hell, it's my flippin' tie, I paid for the neon striped thing && I'm gonna effin' wear it!" Hah, my ties are more hardcore than her...Lol, I'm really such a flit. Avril Lavigne isn't my cup of tea though. If she's a poser than what's a real punk? It's all still going to end up stereotyping a genre of music...

There is no way I'm reading 15 pages of posts LOL! Sorry if someone already said this...
I don't think that Avril is a poser... I think it's her die hard fans that make her out to be one. She is definately NOT a punk, and so many of her fans are like "OMGR0X0RZ!! AVRIL IS LYKE SO PUNK RAWK!!!" which makes people who aren't a fan of her's think that she is a poser... Sure, she may look punk, and she might like punk bands, but her music is definately NOT punk. I would put it in a genre with like Michelle Branch or something. |
