..... If you don't understand FTP, then why are you - nevermind. Anyways, this is a situation where Google comes in handy.

QUOTE
FTP:
Short for File Transfer Protocol, the protocol for exchanging files over the Internet. FTP works in the same way as HTTP for transferring Web pages from a server to a user's browser and SMTP for transferring electronic mail across the Internet in that, like these technologies, FTP uses the Internet's TCP/IP protocols to enable data transfer.
FTP is most commonly used to download a file from a server using the Internet or to upload a file to a server (e.g., uploading a Web page file to a server).

first off :

1) if you have an index.html page none of your files are going to show.
2) are you sure you got the url right?

you should always learn ftp before you get something with ftp . i cant really help you because i dont use that program.

...
if you look on the ftp page when you upload it . and you see either
"index.htm" "index.html" or "index.php"
it has an index file and when you go to your site page then your fiels wont show.
if it doesnt have any of the following files then you should be able to see your files on the site page when you go to the url.

Uh.... That really doesn't help much at all.
But.... It seems your files are transferred, so now, you can link them.....
graphic-forum.com/filename.filetype

What are you trying to link? o.O If the file name has spaces, you put a %20 where the space is.

ok first off :
ALWAYS KNOW YOUR URL. you cant find any of your files without your url. nyan was close i think but she forgot the "s"'s . You should know your url by know.

This is your url:
http://www.graphics-forums.com/jake/.

this would be your url to an uploaded file

http://www.graphics-forums.com/jake/filename.filetype

if thats an incorrect url then talk to the guy that gave it to you.

You kow why they're not showing up? Because you're loading into the wrong directory. You should be connected to graphics-forum.com/jake, not graphics-forum.com. -shrug- Iono, but... That seems logical to me.

Well actually , you dont always have to upload into graphic forums/ jake because for my host for example we connect to "foreverbliss" rather than vibrance.foreverbliss.

Im starting to think its because its not set up with like a cgi bin and what not. Thats probly not it but i would seriously wait for your host to come back since you dont get it .

Or maybe download another ftp program and try uploading it there and see if it works.

But you have your own seperate FTP username and password, correct?
So when you'd log in, it directs you to your files, not everyone elses... Right? Nevermind.... I think you just need a new FTP program. Yours seems to be working from the screenshot, but... I dunno. It's not.
