It's better to let the mod's duty to be the same.

- Mod would not be a good idea to council people because ..
    too much pressure
    too much work
    not worth it
    stressful
    more chances of heart attack
    stronger pounding heart occur
    fusteration occur
    etc ..
- abby advice is hardly active. why depend on her/him/it?

Of course, councilers would be nice. i'm with you.

That's cute. It's also the reason I hate twelve-year-olds; no logic.

(22:07:30) kangsta4LIFE XD: anna, not to be rude or anything but u know the cb counseling topic I made? I was just seeing if people would think if its a great idea that would help..I didnt make it cuz I have no life..
(22:07:31) kangsta4LIFE XD: -_-

Funny, isn't it? That he's utterly rude in his post and then apologizes when he's being polite?

Honestly, though, online counseling is stupid; if you seriously have problems that require counseling, you shouldn't even be online. Let's be practical now: if this were put into effect, exactly what would said "counselors" do? Members are bashed on for making "stupid topics, stupid posts, racial remarks, etc." because they deserve it. Mods know to verbally warn such bashers.

And why not just put your little 'idea' into effect without a thread about it? I'm positively sure that admin will not create another member group just for your idea. Self-proclaimed counselers can do their little thing if they want, but the easiest thing to do if you're annoyed with cB members is to either leave or talk to said members.

God, this idea is so impractical.

Like I said before, if you're seeking this sort of help for your problems, you probably shouldn't even be online. People looking for said help should get off of their lazy asses and go out to get it instead of asking inexperienced teens for their 'advice.'

And, rofl, I never said I wasn't rude, and quite frankly, I'm really not going to change that just because it offends someone. I was just pointing out the irony that Jason was apologizing for stupid shit.

edit- AND LOL. "YOU WAS" HAHA, OH STEVEN, YOU SO GANGSTA, YOU IN DA HOOD. HAHAHAHA. You're from Cupertino, one of the richer cities in the area. Stop e-thugging.

So I wasn't going to sink to your level and post, but I will just one more time anyway. You get under my skin, Steven, you really fucking do, despite however much I hate to admit it. Good for you that you get satisfaction out of doing stupid shit. Good for you that you think you're the shit. You're not above anyone - nor am I - but you just so love to think you are. I'm not the only pathetic one, dear. You are too.

And when you say "bash for no reason," when is there ever reason to bash? Exactly. There's not - you're just being a hypocrite when you say that I'm doing it for no reason - because what reason do you have? Since when have you ever been Mr. Righteous? Never, so you have no room to talk shit.

And at least I don't look like a fucking retard who can't close my mouth in my pictures like you do. Watch your ass, bitch. Cupertino High isn't that big. I'm done with you; don't think I'm backing down, I'm just sick of your bullshit. I'm not degrading myself any further for you.

Yes, back to counseling.

I actually don't think it's that bad of an idea. And as easy as it is to say "Don't let internet beef get to you," "stop coming to a site," people have a natural need to be liked, or at least accepted somewhat, no matter the setting, so it's hard to just let things go. However, I don't think we need a special member group devoted to counseling. Perhaps some volunteers from People staff (since they're in and around the community a lot more) to act as peer mediators?

Steven, Anna, and aznxboredxperson, this is your verbal warning. Take it to PM or AIM or something else that ends with an M (standing for message).

Well, we're always here if people wanna PM us. I don't think there needs to be certain special people; members can PM us asking for help or whatever anytime they want.

This is close to a debate so let me break this down to make things as easy to understand as possible for those who is confused.

QUOTE(aznxboredxperson @ Jul 28 2005, 11:51 PM)

            fusteration occur
            etc ..

First, who are you to say we have "too much pressure"? Have you ever been a mod? I thought not, then how would you know if it's "too much work", "stressful"... etc?

Second, I'm sorry but those have got to be the saddest compilation of "evidence" or "proof" I've ever seen. Why? Though not all moderators may want to counsel, a few of us wouldn't mind because "People Staff" are here to communicate with members. It's already one of our job description.

Third, if you need someone to get you through all your life's problem, then you either need a friend (on or off cB), or a shrink. Hint: the former is the more cost-friendly alternative.

QUOTE
abby advice is hardly active. why depend on her/him/it?
Of course, councilers would be nice. i'm with you.

What do you mean Abby is hardly active? You want someone to solve your problem for you, but you want it RIGHT AWAY? Wow, life doesn't work that way. When you were conceived, your parents had to wait 9 months for you.

Abby is featured on cBn each month. As much as she would like to be more active, cBn currently only runs once a month so it's not possible for her. It's not like she doesn't respond to her mails. She gives her response to us now on a monthly basis like we've agreed on. If she fails to do so, then sure, she's not dependable, but so far, she's pretty dependable to me.

Maybe you're too young to understand what dependability is, but don't use your ignorance to judge others harshly.
