Okay, I'm thinking about purchasing a mp3 player for a gift, but I don't know which one would be the best. I'm looking for the best one that is cheap, about $200-$230 w/tax, and with about 2gb-4gb is fine. I don't really want to get the ipod mini because I don't really like how it looks and such. I want to know any recommendations of mp3 players that fit what I'm looking for. thanks. =]

Cnet can help you a lot with buying an mp3 player...that's where I went when I wanted to get a good deal with mine.

Okay, I did a quick check on Amazon...couldn't find any 2-4 GB, but some 1 GB and 5 GBs. Sorry.

Rio Carbon 5GB

Creative MuVo 1GB

iRiver iFP 799T 1 GB

Sandisk 1GB

Creative Zen Micro 5GB (I personally think this one has a hideous design and looks terrible; I don't recommend it at ALL)

iAUDIO G3-1024SW 1 GB - with FM radio and voice recorder! I don't recommend this, though-voice recorders aren't really the most useful things on the planet, and FM radios should be left to...radios. Let mp3's do their own thing. Having two things stuck in one gadget, like a camera phone for example, usually brings down the quality of both, in my opinion.

Hope that helped! :)

Why not get a Creative Zen Micro? It's about $200 though, but it's got cool features other than playing mp3s.

Okay. I have my eyes set on the Rio Carb 5GB one. I was wondering if it is sold in major electronic stores, like BestBuy, CompUSA, Circuit City, Etc. because I can't order online and I'd like to buy in in-store. I've checked CompUSA in my area, but they don't sell the Rio Carbon. any help?

it should be sold in major stores.

check out the iriver h10, 5 gb edition.

that one should be about 200 bucks or so. color screen makes it easier to view, even if you never use the picuture viewing.

the iRiver h10 on eCost.com.

It's coming in my mail in a couple days :)

It's only 177 dollars plus shipping and handling.

Because the electronic retailers around my area don't have in in stock, I was wondering if I were to order a Rio Carbon Silver 5gb, online, where would I get the best deal? Who's the most reliable? oh yeah, I decided on a Rio Carbon.. I didn't really like how the iriver looked. =]
