derrrr i've been having some problems with my mom lately, like its becoming harder and harder to talk to her. is this normal, or am i just a spoiled little girl?

My mom and I are really close, but thats only because I was taken from her when I was 9 years old by some conniving family members of mine. I was only allowed to talk to her once a year, if that. I didnt get to see her for more then a total of 2 weeks for ten years. It was really messed up. SO now that I'm all grown up, we are really close, mostly to make up for lost time. Yup.

Yea, me and my mom are always arguing because we're so alike in some ways, and totally opposite in others. No one gets together all of the time, but I still respect her, because she's my mother and all that, and we get along some of the time....Life isn't all that bad with an asian mother

I'm asian.. But my mom isn't really strict. We get along really well and I can talk to her about a lot of things.

That sucks that you're having a hard time talking to your mom.. Do you guys ever have a chance to just hang out the two of you? Maybe try that sometime.

just see if you can open yourself up to more discussion and stuff. id kill to have a normal conversation with my mom. i havent had one since i was like 5 and that was prolly about toys or puppies or rainbows or somthing enjoy your parents...

All kidding aside, it's perfectly normal for your relationship with your mom to get tougher as you get older. You might be spoiled, but that's probably not the root of the issue. Being a teenager entails being a lot more moody, so your relationships with your parents, people in authority, or anyone else for that matter tends to be a bit rough. It'll be okay. Just take deep breaths and try not to get angry about little things.

My relationship with my mom is the same. We fight every other day, only once a week if we're lucky. Sometimes I just have to remind myself that I can't get mad at every little thing she does, and if things don't go my way, that's just the way of the world and I can't whine about it.

My mom is really... serious. She can't take a joke. We never get along. She stares at me at random times which really creeps me out. We never talk and she knows nothing that's going on in my life. All she does it complain about the bills and blah blah. I can't tell her anything that's going in my life like friends and such and when she finds out she makes a big deal of it. Ugh.

yeah i feel the same way too, i think as you get older..the parents (mine are asian) are trying to be harder-ish on you b/c they want you to focus on real life stuff...but my mom is half mean&half nice..its like i have to know my instinct on whether she is in a good mood or not to talk or w/e to her about stuff

Hmm..I get along with my mom better now. She understands me more and I can talk to her about a lot of things. She's not my best friend, although she says she is, but I love her to death anyway.

ok yeah i admit. me and my mom are nothing alike. we never spend time together. i am independent and she does nothing. lol sometimes i wonder if she never existed, would i be any different? yeah then i feel bad =/ but she never listens to me and she absolutely adores my big bro
