Oh really? blink.gif Whoa. They mixed in the new clips...perfectly...I could barely...tell. Aww. Too bad they didn't release this earlier, around now - would've been great for Independence Day. *Waves American flag proudly*

*

With computer technology, it most definitely made it easy for them to do it.
I'm just curious as to how much they spent to use those clips, seeing as though it's a Spielburg movie.

QUOTE(omg_melface @ Jul 6 2005, 2:55 AM)
i've been listening to mcr for the past four years... and i hate you idiots who are in love with them and are just so cool wearing their tee's... and wearing your ugly ass makeup the same way they do... jesus christ. you annoy me and i would love to beat the shit out of you.

like a loyal listener of the band's... i will not view the video because i'm not obsessive and because i can keep my pants on.
*

How long you listen to a band depicts nothing. The only thing you've proven is that you want people to think of you as being elite because you have been a fan for that long. Sorry kiddo, but that proves nothing at all.

You need to chill out. People like you make the band look bad. Honestly, you're the worst kind of fan there is. You need to realize AND appreciate that a band will have alot of different fans. Who cares if they wear their merch, or want to mimick A GUY that wears makeup.

Honestly now, that whole little rant of yours was obnoxious, immature, and well, just plain stupid. No "loyal listener" would have said the things you have just said. Hell, I don't even like the band, and your inane comments pissed me off.

People like you ruin the music scene.

Hahah, drama on thee first page.

Anyways, I would rather like to note his new haircut. It's quite.... I don't know, it makes me giggle a little bit. I liked his older hair.

Ghost Of You isn't definately not one my favorite songs. I don't know, I think they should've picked another.

Actually, this haircut is the older haircut. In the "Vampires Will Never Hurt You Video," (which is what propelled my obsession with their Eyeball records release) he has pretty much the same haircut.

If you have it, that's fine. Don't spread it cause the band is bummed that it was leaked. They claim that it's not even done. Most of the sites that were carrying it aren't anymore so Ladies and Gents ya'll are going to have to wait until September.

edit// if you have it, i suggest you delete it. they are sueing the pants off the people who have it in their possesion.

heh, you people. I watched this video, it is EXTREMELY GOOD!!! ok, MCR did not use clips from 'Saving Private Ryan' they spent more than half a million dollars so shoot war scenes for this music video. THAT IS SO COOL!!!
ok so, this is what happen is the video...
It shows people at this hall, dressed ffrom the 40's, and they all talking in stuff, then the music starts playing. Gerard starts singing at the hall, and it shows the rest of MCR playing the music. It then shows the guys in the war dancing to MCR's "Ghost of You" with girls and stuff. It then shows the guys going to war on a boat, someone throws up, and they show MCR. It then goes back to The "hall" scene where everyone is dancing. Then they show MCR drinking together at a bar, and having a feel good time. Then, they show the people dancing, then it goes back to the war scene. that part is really cool because they show the dance floor, then it turns so water, then it's all war. Then Mikey and the guys stare at the camera, then turn away. This girl in the vid plays Mikey's gf, and they show Mikey turn around and smile at her. Then in shows Mikey who gets shot, and dies. Gerard is crying out "MIKEY" you can read his lips. Then Gerard tries to save Mikey, but he dies. It then shows Gerard spazzing out. Then , the song is ending, and the camer zooms into Gerard's face who looks heartbroken, and then song ends, and you can heard guns and stuff being fired. That's it!

Well f**k if I'm wrong then, but why in the hell do the clips look EXACTLY like they've been ripped from Saving Private Ryan?

I heard $50,000 which is a far cry from half a million....

well, they don't look like clips from 'Saving Priavate Ryan' first of fall. And besides they show MCR through every war scene in the video. Gerard said that they were FILMING clips to a movie, then putting it into their video. so yeah....just saying.

Well, then I'd love to be Spielburg right about now, seeing as the concept used was exactly that of the first epic scene in Saving Private Ryan.

If I was able to create screencaps from the movie, I'd try, to compare and see if my theory is right.

Man, I would really love to see the new video...

I'll live. =)

well, I guess,... they both are riding in those box things or whatever in the water, and then running around on some beach. I guess the concept was taken from 'Saving Privet Ryan', but it was filmed by MCR anyways.
Bob looks really thin in this video....

Jordanaine.. you really make me mad. it's people like you that really piss me off. you act as if you are better than us.... and you are very ignorant to the video as well. you claimed that there were clips from saving private ryan.. maybe you could have looked closer. and it doesn't matter if if looks the same--- it's not like that movie was made up--- it's historical fact, so it's not like MCR was like "that looks cool- great imagination. lets take it." they are more creative than that, and have more interest in the videos. you would know that they are more interested in helping creat the video than making one that is popular. please research a TINY bit before saying so god damn much. it would help us all. biggrin.gif

I just hate the people who listen to it and say w/e...then see a music video and are all "OMFG THAT GUYS HAWTT !!!1111"

Like a band for the goddamn music, not the guys haircut.

All in all, amazing video...

I really like the band, just find there music very simplistic...

I agree it went mainstream as soon as 'I'm not OK' hit the air. But for me? I like 'Vampires will never hurt you' And no I don't look or act like a typical fan becuase I don't lock myself in a room and cut and dress in all black. But guess what? I love ALL their music. So get over it.

Is there a sequence in the music video where there is a soldier holding his innards you? You don't really see the innards in the video, but you see him clutching the area.

Go watch Saving Private Ryan and tell me if you DONT see that.

Honestly, the only reason why I stick with my theory, is because it looks EXACTLY THE SAME, minus where they might have CGI'd in Gerard in front of the battle scene. It's not that hard to "add" a person/scene on top of another.

The coloring, the sequence, the location, the props, the uniforms all look exactly as they do in SPR. Yes, it's obviously based off history, but alot of times things are changed around for more appeal, drama, and well, to make it look better then it did in real life, especially since this is a Spielburg film.

Then reply to this thread, that's your research assignment.

OK, Jordanriane and everyone else who thought this was made from Saving Private Ryan stuff, it was not (I did my homework!) It was made by World War Two reenactors in california on a beach set there. And yes, there are a large number of people in the US who do WWII reenacting. We set up displays to educate the public on how the real soldiers lived, and do tacticals, where we do combat situations, many times for the public. Anyway, the shoot was high quality for a music video, they had hollywood "squibs" (explosions, rig ups in the actors jackets, etc) and a real WWII landing craft. I am a member of a WWII reenactor's forum where I heard about this video shoot a couple of months ago from some guys that were in it, I and they have been anticipating this video just as much as you guys! _smile.gif The similarities between it an SPR are close, but it was not really the movie SPR that inspired it, but D-Day, the Allied invasion of france in WWII. No CG stuff was used, it was just a beach shoot with WWII reenactors and the rigged explosions. If anyone questions whether I am really a reenactor or not, here is a pic of me at an event a month or so ago, that's me on the left. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v653/gar...eandCharles.jpg Just thought i'd let you guys know the real deal about how the WWII sequences were done. biggrin.gif
