Can't you buy a retainer? its clear jewelry for hiding piercings. I dont know if they have any for toungue piercings though.

I suggest getting it pierced when you won't see many people around. Like at camp or on vacation. After you have it done try to let people know not to say things about it in front of people. Talk slowly and don't face people when you talk. If you have to, clench your teeth just enough to hide the silver or what ever color you choose. But try not to choose a color too obvious like neon or something like that. I hope that helps.

I successfully hid my toungue ring from my family for almost 2 years. Just dont open your mouth really wide when you talk. If you have a retainer or something use it. Also, take it out when u go to the dentist, cuz they usually will talk about the dangers of it to your teeth, and u dont want the 'rents to hear. What I did was practice talking in the mirror. It will hurt to speak clearly, but it will hide the damn thing. as soon as u have had it in for about a month, put in a retainer thingy. They are these little flesh colored plastic caps, that have a rod, and then are flat on top. They are made just for hiding the peircing. Just dont sleep with one in. Okay thats about all I did.

You're going to have to learn how to talk without showing your [inside] mouth alot.
Just practice talking with your lips moving, and your teeth somewhat together. That's what I did when I hid my piercing from my parents. You can also just change the barbell to a clear one instead of say, a colored plastic one, or metal. It'll be easier to.. conceal it. <3 to pierced tongues! Ah, and what karamelle said.. Get a clear plastic retainer. They work wonders for job positions that don't allow any facial piercings! |
