boy crazy, its to the point of obsession! Options

I really fell for this guy! I mean realllllly! It started out as a silly crush but crew into a massive obsession! I need to get over him but the thing is I can't because in the back of my mind I still believe I have a chance.

See when i use to see him a lot at school i thought he was always sending me signals and my friends saw it too and they were all "i think he likes you!" and this made me like him more because my friends were behind me.

Anyway ya i talked to his friend and he was like "no he doesnt like you. he doesnt like anybody right now" and i asked him if i had a chance and he was like "nope" but i'm stupid enough to listen to my friends who are like "oh maybe he's lying" or "maybe he changed his mind" (its been about a month since i talked to his friend or even seen the boy of been obsessing over)

Anyway whenever i look back at all the signals he gave me i still think i have a chance and same with my friends. Theres a slight chance he might be at one of our mutual friends birthday part on tuesday. How do you think i should act? Should I flirt with him? Should I ignore him? Should I act normal and pretend that I don't like him and think about him every second of the day!!!??? (i told you i fell hard for the guy) or do u think i should, if the timing seems right, confront him about my feelings? (did i mention he just graduated and his headed halfway across the country in a little over a month?)
