Well, down here in San Antonio where I live, EVERYONE is Mexican, so I've never had racism directed towards me that offended me or anything...
But occasionaly, something does pop up. For example, my best friend at school is black, and there's this stupid little white kid in one class who keeps on making fun of her and just keeps on pointing out her race... ex. "You should be the slave because you're black." Well, she blew up and me and her, and my other friend, decided to make plans to jump him. ![]() And, there's this Filipino (sp?) girl who has been my good friend ever since 6th grade, and I used to have a friend who was extremley racist towards asians. He always called her a "f*cking ugly Chinese b*tch"... And not just her, all asians he would call "Chinese B*tches". The keywords here are used to be friends. So, yeah, I don't think it's funny, and I will do something about it. Maybe not something huge, but yeah, something will change. I think in Houston it's pretty cool. They've got like... a whole asian mall down there. ![]() lol... I'm such an Asian Wanna-be. |

im my school, theres a whole bunch of people of different backgrounds. like we have spanish with asians n blacks n whites. but i hate racism so much. its so stupid and pointless. but its not only in school, theres racism in real life too. like one time, my dad, my older sister and me were driving. n next to us were these white(sry but its true no offense to anyone out there) teenage boys n they were drunk. they were so stupid. they turned the station to a spanish radio station and then they started callin us names like stupid mexicans and we should go back to mexico n that we should become waiters. why do people have 2 be so mean? its like, hey genius, ur not so special we can make fun of u back. people just dont understand. racism is retarded n it should be stopped!

I've had to deal with that shit before, it really makes me mad.
(I'm hispanic) Like my "friend" makes really racist comments about me. Even if shes "just kidding" it really pisses me off. One time, I told her not to come to my house because my dad was mad at her (long story) and she was like "oh, will he get the latin kings on me?" ughhh! Theres plenty of other stuff..but I'm sure you get my point. I've also been called a "spic" before, and yes I was offended. |

wow... you're brave
![]() i find it easier to stand up for others then for myself, because you're not the one being hurt in those situations. but the guys at my school who keep on saying racist comments don't ever stop no matter what. and it's usually only those guys who find it funny. |

i dont like racism as much as the next person. but people allow it cause everyone isnt perfect. as much as you dont like it people judge. and that judging turns more general and sh*t like that. and its okay cause everyone does it.

Its really rare for me to get in some debate/fight with someone about this subject. I have before though, I don't see exactly how its ever been funny. But eh I just shrug it off usually..

These days i just tell people to get over it. Try being black and hearing every person in the school use the word nigga and nigger like its peewee's word of the day. Its not worth getting mad over because people wont stop sayin it. Too ignorant.

O.o There are a lot of asians, mainly filipinos, at my school but I'm the ONLY chinese person. I dont know how word got out, because people usually thought I was filipino too, but now I'm being called chink and all that crap.
=\ If I had the ability to knock someone out, I'd punch them on the spot. =[ Then again.. a lot of people call each other "niggers" whether they're black or not. >_> It's like.. part of the English slang now. ![]() |

You really should have done more about it. That is a violation of your rights, with the teacher encouraging such discrimination.
Me, I don't think any particular race is superior or inferior. I judge individuals on how they act, carry themselves, and view things. Now, the other, less negative racism I don't tolerate either. If you call yourself a nigger, and then dress and act to fit into that stereotype, you honestly can't expect people to not call you a nigger as well (just an example-- that goes for all racial stereotypes!). That's my opinion on it, anyways. |

My school is like that. The majority there is blacks, and hispanics. They do that shit all day, everyday. So, I`m pretty used to it.. I`m Vietnamese and I hate it when they call me " chinita, cheena, chink, etc. etc. " I always end up saying shut up you fcuking " wetback, beaner, nigger, cracker, etc. " yeah its not right, but like I said.. I grew up around people like that so yeah.. and oh yes.. have you ever pass by a group of kids and outta no where they start talking jiberish like its some type of asian language? yeah I hate that too..

Well, I don't think my experience is exactly "racist" but here it goes..
My mom, sister and I were walking down this street in Vermont. Then this lady stops us and goes "Do you speak English?!" My mom was really offended by that. |

Why do all the black kids sit together at lunch?
Don't take that as a racist comment. It's not. Let me explain. Has anyone read The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison? Well, the author of the book is an African-American woman, and in this one particular section, she talks about how she despises the traditional doll that every little girl is supposed to love. You know, the perfect Aryan doll, blue eyes, blonde hair, pink skin and rosy cheeks. She goes on to say how much she hates them- she's frightened of them, she finds them incredibly uncomfortable to sleep with, and the only thing she actually wants to do to the doll is dismember it, to find out what is so lovable about it, to see the beauty that she seemed to miss out on. What she is trying to say in this passage is that she doesn't see the beauty in this perfect doll- she wonders, Why aren't there any black dolls? Dolls like me? And this makes her confused. All she wants to do is belong. Belong to a group that is like her. Which brings me back to the first statement. Not just black people sit together. Groups of Asians do, the whites congregate in their own cliques, the hispanics, and et cetera. They do it because people naturally want to be in a part of a group that shares common characteristics with themselves- they want to be around people that look like them. It's just the way most people act- sure, there are exceptions, but most people feel safe (or relatively so, anyway) with people like them. I think this tendency people have has an effect on racism- all these single-race groups sit at their own table, but not with each other. The gap between the races increases because of lack of communication, and this gives people the oppurtunity to judge the race solely by stereotypes. With these judgments formed and no personal relations are able to back it up, they possess opinions that aren't necessarily true about the race, which lead to racism. *bets no one reads this* |
