There is nothing wrong with Rap or Hip-Hop. You'll be suprised on how many people on here love them both. And there are numerous topics dedicated to them. If you search the topics on hip hop and rap, you will see how the ones that stay open greatly outnumber the ones that are closed.
In the writing forum, it's important that people are free to express themselves, yes. And many people post their raps, which i do read. I find some of them good, some of them need work..but either good or bad, most people appreciate their effort. I know alot of ppl hate Jason on here cuz of his raps, but I think it shows somethan that he just gets right back up and keep posting, even tho everyone says their crap.

But...there is a fine line between expressing yourself through rap and hiphop and insulting another member on Cb. If you read the guidelines and what kind of site this is, We don't accept people being disrespectful torwards each other or rude. (even tho many people on here are..but that's a different story). So when they diss each other in their raps, it's considered member bashing, and if it goes too far, then mods are forced to close it. Period. Nothing against rap or hip hop, or battling. Battling can be done tastefully in rap, the good rappers can atleast. But when it gets outta hand, the mods should close it.
And since you are new, you gotta understand that this happens in threads of any topic. Whether it be rap, or about cooking or somethan. No mean to offend you or anything. Understand the mods don't close a topic for fun, they always have a reason, and usually a good reason. If you do have a problem with a topic that was closed, then please PM a mod and tell them about it. That's all. Thanks

Creating an entire thread to diss a member, regardless if both parties understand that its all in fun, is member bashing to an extent. Having these threads in the writing forum is a slap in the face to every writer (including myself) in this forum.

There's a forum game for freestyling. Leave it there. No need to litter the writing forum with something that isn't meant to be taken seriously.

I think its a fcuking shame that a diss to Jason will merit more recognition than a poem by Justin or a piece of prose by myself. Don't ruin the integrity of the forum.

It's not freestyling online. It's a rap battle. It's heard of, every hip hop related forum I have ever been on have a section for this. I see your points and although Jason vs. Dejay is a horrible example of rap, it shouldn't be outlawed because it doesn't break any rules.

If, lets say you wanna diss me, go ahead and make another thread but if you want to diss Jason's thing then do it within the thread that he has. There's no reason for person A to diss person B in one thread the C diss A in another thread. That'll lead to some crazy stuff in the writing forum.

PERSON A vs. PERSON B = one thread
PERSON A vs. PERSON C = another thread
PERSON D vs. PERSON F = another thread

its not crazy. pretend its sports. when team A plays team B they play verse eachother at the same time. team C is scheduled to play team A also. team C will play a separate game at a seperate time. does that make sense? sorry if its unclear
