but yes they're illegal where I live. It's still fun to light them off, though. We were being stupid this year so we put a ton of ground bloomers in an upside down beer bottle with a couple of lit sparklers. The bottom of the bottle turned black and shot up a couple feet.

Yea, they're illegal.. but people still light them off. It's so much fun. And the cops don't really go around to check, so who cares.
