Belly-button peircing, too young? Options

getting your belly button pierced at 13 is way too young. the pain is a little too intense, don't you think? I am going to be 13 (you can still call be 13, actually) and dang that would hurt. I would never get mine done - Period.

Here, you need to be 16 to get almost any type of peircing without an adult, and she said she just pretended a friends' mom was her mom...

But the point is: What? Peirced belly button at 13?  Isn't that a little young? Or is it a natural thing to do at that age and I just don't know?

But everyone's mad about 13 year old girls who dress skanky and stuff... would you consider a 13 year old owning clothes that showed the belly button ring skanky? I don't consider it wrong, per se, I'm just trying to get into other people's minds. And it's confusing me. 

yes it is skanky because your not even old yet, much less 15 or 16 and your already showing off too much. not that its okay at 15 or 16 but the point is at least your older. personally dressing skanky isn't cool to me. 13 is a bit young for a belly button. don't get one if you don't plan on going through all the pain and infections it comes with.

Well I guess it's a bit young, but I knew a girl who had it pierced at 12. She's a ho, so it didn't stand out.

I kind of agree. Because I don't think at that age you really think clearly, in a couple years you could decide you don't want it anymore and there's really no way to completely get rid of it.

I don't even have my ears pierced (I'm 15), I'm weird but I don’t' think it's worth it. Sure, they might be kind of fun for a while, but you'd get bored of it, and there's always a chance it'll get infected and it's just a bother. Two of my friends pierced ears got infected and it took about a year of putting some kind of stuff on it to make it O.K. I donno, it's just too much bother for too little reward.

if you ask me, dont EVER get one. i was actually planning to get one until i saw this girl in the changerooms... there was like yellow pus coming out of the hole =S a few days after ppl said she dint come to school cus the skin sorta ate up the ring and there was a gaping hole with infectious yellow pus coming out... GROSS.

exactly. It may be a very small risk, but it's still putting yourself at risk for lets face it, no real benefits. I'd rather keep my skin unpeirced thank you very much

well actually it doesnt hurt....my friend got it at 10 and she was like "it didnt hurt!not even as much as getting your ears peirced."

i got my belly button pierced at 14. if you take proper care of it, it'll be just fine. some of my friends forget to take care of it, and they got infections. getting it pierced didn't hurt; they just put a lot of pressure. here, you have to be 18; but if you have a friend or parent with you, they let you.

If you come to my school all(most,err should i say kinda slutty 1s)the girls PIERCE THERE OWN BELLYBUTTON,yeah I remember sitting at a basketball game at school with my friends and i see these two girls infront of me 1 holding a needle and the other ones like "come on just push it through" . Yeah really retarded u can like push the wrong spot,I just dont know. i wouldn't get it piereced now..

i think 13 is a little young to be getting your belly pierced...i mean i want it done, but not 'til im older like 15/16.... the only other thing i have pierced is my ears..when i was like 8 or something i got it done...i haven't had problems at all.. like other ppl said..if you take care of it properly, then u shouldn't have a problem..

Im suprised they didn't catch her thou.
Because here they check your ID and social security cards and stuff. And you have to be 18 to get a piercing without a guardian.

they dont check where i live either... as long as someone's paying. here, most people have all different last names and step parents and stuff... no one knows who's with who anymore.

Whooa. I've never met anyone with a piercing other than ears that was about my age [13-15]. Maybe then again, I go to a TAG school...so everything else is more enclosed to us.
I agree with majority here, I think 13 is way too young.
