Offical member confusion

Ok, so the orginal offical member requirements you are that you are required to have, on your xanga, a link and join the blogring. What about those that dont use Xanga and have livejournal, blogger or myspace? Shouldnt they have requirements as well? There is a little confusion in the Offical member thread about this, I thought I would bring it up here.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing but I guess since I'm admin I'm expected to come up with something.

I was thinking that for a non-Xanga related site, that you would just be required to add the button to that site. If it's a MySpace site, you would also have to join the MySpace CB Group. I'll add that link modify that thread soon or in a few days. I'm a bit busy.

It's good that MySpace users can be part of the official member group now. _smile.gif

I hope this will encourage more members to participate more.

Well, then I guess if someone really wanted to be official member but they don't have a blog, they'd probably either post about it in the thread or PM an admin about it and then we can handle it from there.

I just wouldn't want to put that in the requirements because folks with blogs might just do the minimum requirements to avoid adding the button or joining the blogring, etc.

^

perhaps if someone doesnt have ablog, you could let them in with a much higher post count. like say, 500

because if they've posted here that many times without using the resources, that shows some dedication to the community forums which is worth recognizing

Question: What if you have a blog, but it's on a personal website that you maintain? How do you fulfill the requirements for official member status?

I think there are some requirements for those that don't have xanga. I'm not 100% sure but I really am sure.
