I don't think there should be a 30 second flood control on the topics that don't increse your post count. Becuase it is spam if you post more than 3 times in 15 seconds, but it also dosnt increase your post count.. so erm yeah. I don't see why it couldn't be done.. Becuase those fourm games move fast, and it's nice to be able to post fast in them.

well maybe people should slow down. :]

it increases your PPD even if it doesn't increase your post count.

Maybe there shouldn't be flood control for forum games because you usually only type a few words or so. They don't add to your post count anyway.

^That sounds like a good idea.

I know what you mean on the forum games thing. I always have to wait. T.T

Can you have custom flood control options on a per-forum basis in IPB?

I agree. This flood control thing slows the forum game down and i don't like waiting.
It would be great if this custom flood control can be done :P

that's the best suggestion i've heard.. other flood control show have a message like hmm.. well you know how when you re-edit a post and it shows that message and it has a link saying, "if you do not wish to wait click here". that's my suggestion.

I think it's possible, but I haven't used IBP in years..
I've been using phpbb, and SMF (simplemachines.org)

i make nice long slow post and still get flood control.

why? because i finish a post, go to another topic and start workiing on my reply.

BLEH.

flood control should be changed- you can't submit your post within 30 seconds of posting, but you can still start typing.

and don't say use fast reply.

Agreed; sometimes, when I post, I don't see the person who posted immediately before me, so I end up replying incompletely to post before me. Then, I try to use the quote feature to capture what the person above me said to edit into the post I just made, and it won't work because of flood control. :[ I don't know if any of you comprehend what I just wrote, but yeah. Haha. I agree with other Justin.

eh, i agree that is annoying. but, the arguement that forum games go too fast..is weak.

and, the flood control thing DOES help sometimes..removing it probably wouldn't be such a good idea.

... Flood control is sometimes what prevents double posts. Five seconds isn't even a wait. ...

God. Seriously, get a life.

Or do what Sammi said: just slow down.

It's not like flood control's going to kill you.

(How ironic that flood control hit me when I tried to post this. laugh.gif)

Read the damn post; I called no names.

Anyway, like James said, there's no way to customize flood control for forums. And it's already been established that kids in forum games hate flood control; no need to beat a dead horse. ...

go to another forum for a while if you get flood control. we all had to deal with it; it's not that big of a deal.
