I guess it depends on what you like. The guitar is more melodic, and can be a lot of fun to play. It's also better for creating music than the drums, as drum parts are generally written to go along with guitar parts. But I've always found the drums to be a lot more fun to play, too, and they're a really awesome instrument once you learn what you are doing with them.

If you're thinking of playing in a band, keep some things in mind: the guitar player(s) in a band are often largely responsible for writing music, and they're the ones that get most of the attention. Drummers are an integral part of any band, but they often don't get noticed--or, at least, not nearly as much as the guitarist(s)/singer(s).

personally, i wouldnt compare guitar and drums...maybe like guitar and violin or something....well anyways, i pick guitar...i played it before...guitars can be great to play, even though it might be hard to learn

I personally think guitar is a lot more fun. Both are good instruments, but practicing the drums might be a bit hard considering it's so loud. You'd have to practice in the garage or something and there might not be any space there. And drumsets cost a lot more, I believe. It's your choice though.

Guitar's the most played instrument in the world. Therefore a lot of people will play it. If you're looking to join a band or something, play drums because drummers are more rare than guitar players. Yet, drum sets can be pricey..

Both are awesome... I play both and I don't know which I like better. Just choose whichever one comes more naturally for you and whichever one you enjoy more. Don't think about statistics, just play the one you like better.

and how does saying all that about the piano and then saying one little thing about guitar help. he doesnt care about the piano so, point forth, you didnt need to say anything about it.

now that that's over with, the guitar is what id choose. yeah, it might be harder to play, but i picked it up quite easily and taught myself to play with books and just messing around. i didnt have to take lessons. so just try guitar...(its probably cheaper too)
