well, took advice on lessening overlay...here is a quick new blend i made:
 are the stripes still too dark? |

I like how you overlapped the text a bit. You can see a bit of the edge of the second picture but other than that it's great.
And the stripes look great.

It doesn't look bad! The only thing that bugs me is that there's a slight line showing at the right. Otherwise, it looks pretty good.
