More like take something out! >.<' I hate to be mean, but you're a Javascript-animated-defaulted-n00b!
Even when posting pictures, they should not make the page horizontal scrollbar appear as far as yours does. Use thumbnails.
White/grey on black is hard to read + your background makes it even worse.
All you text appears bolded.... Comic Sans is not the best font to use. I suggest something easy to read... Like Arial or Times New Roman.
And no one uses the search bar unless they absolutely have to. It's a premium feature anyways.
Overall.... It needs to be simplified.

the background image makes everything hard to read! everyone has said it is defaultish...well, maybe you should try going to the tutorial section and learn how to make a layout...just a suggestion. it needs lots of improvement, but at least you put effort into it.

I haven't seen your original one, but from the comments above, I think your xanga has improved a bit. Still, the background and the words look equally blinding to the eyes. You should decide on EITHER the text or the background to be a bright color. Moreoever, your repeated background confuses people.

I don't want to be mean, but try wiping your slate clean and check out one of the xanga skinning tutoriols and make something really cool (you'll feel much more accomplished, believe me )

I'm serious, I used the default for a while and felt pretty cool... I understand where you're coming from, but once I made and coded (well I got the codes... ) everything on my site I felt much cooler, it's much easier than it looks...

Agreed. Just change your font color and the background if nothing actually works with it...

maybe if you personalized it a little ... like custom modules? or getting rid of them all together? you can also put them on the right. by defaultish we mean it looks like the ready made layouts xanga provides. change it up a little so it's more you.
