Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo comment on each other.

I like Nintendo's response the best, because it seems that they are most concerned with their consumers having fun. Microsoft and Sony are talking about making money and having their standards adopted.

CAN YOU SAY PRE RENDERED?

A PS3 did not render those graphics.

interview with guerilla

Is the Killzone sequence a fair example of what people can expect from realtime gameplay on PlayStation 3?

Jan-Bart: Yeah, it's basically a representation of the look and feel of the game we're trying to make.

they also said though heavily scripted it was gameplay. dont worry Kyro man i looked that up. happy.gif
it being pre rendered is a rumor of the skeptics.

and lets say it was pre rendered, they couldve done a way better job than that.
cuz there is alot of mistakes like when they transportation exploded and the player looks away then looks back and all of a sudden. Nothing is left, no rubble, no fire, no smoke, nothing. If you pre-render something is that even possible for something to dissapear completely once it has left your view?

I Pick NINTENDO REVOLUTION!!

I Also Have Every Single Nintendo System, event though alot(not all) think nintendo is crap now, it still sells more overall, i mean, the Gameboy Advance itself sold 28+ million, and the ps2 sold like about what? 10+million? Nintendo maybe Old School Now but Old School is still 1337! Its all about the classics, Gamecube by far has the best graphics out of the 3 current console systems, it just depends on the game you play for Gamecube (Resident Evil 4 shows the craziest/best graphics ever seen on the Gamecube and ONLY for Gamecube), Alot of people say the PSP is better than the DS but, WRONG!! Nintendo always releases something other companies never have done before, (ex. the DS touch screen, do you see any places that sell gaming handhelds with a touch screen? not at all. pictochat? nope, DS download and play? nope. So thats why i pick Revolution, plus, kiddy games are WAY fun than those third party developers that support Sony And Microsoft, why? more multiplayer action =).

EDIT: oh ya, the Ds sold over 5 million coppies already and it hasnt been a year yet =), PSP hasnt even sold 1 mil. yet.

Link to where you found this?

Emphasis on the word trying. This is exactly what happened with the PS2.

http://www.games-digest.com/2005/05/ps3_graphics_ch.html

QUOTE(Games-Digest)
Marv Burkett, nVidia's Chief Financial Officer, has revealed that the RSX chip, due to power the PS3 is currently unfinished. The chip is not due to be available to anyone until September. Which means the stunning visuals shown at E3 could not have been created on one, casting doubt on the validity of Sony claims that the visuals were real PS3 in-game footage.

Now, even if it wasn't pre rendered, it's only a demo. Sony did this with the PS2 (see my post earlier in this thread for the "Game Over" article that discusses this) in order to screw Dreamcast over. They had demos that had stunning graphics, but when the games came out, the graphics were not very good (in some cases, the dreamcast versions were better!). Demos are much easier to make than real games, it's only made to make the game seem really great. This kind of act has turned E3 into a hype fest.

Lets not forget as well, that even if it was a demo using the confounded chip, that there is little processing power going to the things every game has, AI, graphics animation, environment rendering, blah blah blah. That cuts the real graphics power down a notch.

The demos were of one scene in one possible game. It wasnt even a level, nor was it playable. Theres little or no reason to believe that these are renditions of what the PS3 is capable of, especially without the chip to back it up.

The article pretty much destroys the hype around xbox 360 and PS3's processors.

Xbox 360's processor is really only twice as powerful as the regular xbox's processor. Cell is also not as fast as Sony wants you to think it is.

So guys, spread the truth, make sure no one believes the lies that we were told.

Actually, games in general are becoming more and more useless.
There was a site I went to, a couple months ago. That proved that gaming these days, and especially on the next generation consoles, are about everything besides gameplay. It said that most developers focus on graphics, sound effects, and whatnot to make it real. But they only look real, when you play the game, certain aspects that should work, don't. For example, in one game if your character has the ability to jump. How come you can't jump over a little blocking thing that only comes up to your shins, in a closed area or a part of an escaping castle level, (Cough Ocarina of time Cough, even though you can't jump in the first place in that game, just a level example) Or when you shoot magical fireballs and such, such as in superman, that you cannot destroy simple cars and buildings? THere are also invisable walls that agrivate everyone.

I don't remember the site, so don't start hating me for that, not being able to back this up. But alot of people no are so old-school that sometimes they won't even look at a new console. (Ex: Even maddox is against all the new graphical technology and effects. He sticks with old school, but he has a gamecube, as he reviewed in Ikaruga which does not make much sense. But then again, Nintendo is old-school So i guess it does.)

Also another thing, have you seen DMC4? Not the movies of anything, like in game screenshots? They look pretty amazing to me.

Heres are my opinions:

Nintendo Revolution: i am very curious to see how much Nintendo will try to beef it up to compare with the PS3 and Xbox360. The gamecube was a good console IMO, but the games were just....almost kiddish.
Pretty soon, i felt like it was out of the running compared to ps2 and xbox. Nintendo will have to make a drastic change if it wants my vote

XBOX360: When the first xbox came out, i was a little biast, and kinda thought it wasnt nearly as powerful was the ps2. I was wrong. Although i dont have full trust in microsoft, i do believe that it will throw less crap at us than sony. If it does turn out more powerful and better, i will glady pick this over the ps3.

PS3: As much as i like sony, i feel as though it wasnt as good as its former glory. when i first read the article about killzone looking the same as some of the early ps2 games, it got me thinking if sony is just getting lazy. But, one thing that has yet to fall short of my expectations is the games that sony provides which i thoroughly enjoy. Im very unsure if this is the system to get, ill just have to wait for more info

Kiddish? As opposed to Kingdom Hearts? Yeah, Mickey Mouse is so NOT kiddy.

I'm sick of this "Nintendo is for the kids" argument.

The XBOX is many times more powerful than the PS2.

It's hard to meet expectations when Sony over hypes everything.

I didnt mean Nintendo is for kids, i was implying that more of the games Nintendo makes usually brings in the younger crowds and teenagers. While sony makes their fair share of games like that, i feel as though sony has more of a variety of games for older gamers.

Nintendo makes games for EVERYONE. Young and old alike.

Remember the 80s when entire families would gather around their Atari or Nintendo and play asteroids or something? Of course you dont, youre too young, but it happened. And it was glorious. No one said those games were kiddy because they could be played by everyone.

Teenagers, adults, old men still play Mario games.

Meanwhile, the non first party games, there is just as much M-rated games as any other system. Plus, RE4. Hello, Nintendo exclusive. Full of scary goodness.

Get with the program folks, just becuase everyone says Nintendo is kiddy, doesnt mean it is. Just because everyone buys an IPod doesnt mean its no good. And just because everyone watches reality TV doesnt mean its worth while to watch.

One, i didnt say games like asteroids were kiddy

Two, yes, now that i think about it, Nintendo games r made for EVERYONE and i take back what i said

Three, the reason i said that Nintendo made "kiddy" games were because games like Paper Mario or Star Fox Adventures looks like a game that would usually whoo younger audiences more than adults in my opinion.

Four, the fact that i stated Nintendo made kiddy games was my opinion. it doesnt make me right nor wrong, just what i think
