Well, bread is actually a polygon that looks like a square with two lumps at the top, you overlooked the fact that some breads are round and if you add those squared ham from Oscar Meyer onto squared bread, you get a squared sandwich.

'Cause bread can easily be made into a square. The factory machine just chops and moulds it into a square [well... square-like-lumpy-shape] and then bakes it. When baked, it just pops up like that. But in meat factory, they use round tubes or when they chop the meat off, it just comes off kinda round. And who wants to invent square tubes just for sandwiches??? Eh, some things in life are best left unanswered.

Hams aren't square. Hams are generally round. Cutting them in circles is most convenient. For all of you that oppose and say not all hams are round, go to the grocery store and find me a ham that's square. And yes there are some hams that are cut into squares. Why? So it can fit in square slices of bread.

B0st0ngirl pretty much got it though.

Because the bread and sandwich meat wanted you to ask that question.

I don't know, the factories that make the bread and sandwich meat wanted you to ask that question.

Ok, seriously, I guess because, as b0st0ngrl said, bread pans are square and the turkey and hams at the deli store are round.

Let's just get the bread factory people and the meat factory people to come together and decide on making both triangles.

Let it be over with.

if you have a round peice of peat it wont dry out as fast as a square one as the surface area to volume ration is lower to that if it were a square
