They were getting a bad review about battery life because the ipods that were sold before a certain date had a deffected battery. People got a refund though.
Anyways, I want one. |

I agree. I got the mini that can hold up to 8 hours of power, and ever since I bought it in July of last year, it has never played anything close to 6 hours worth of songs.
Now it won't even play 2o minutes, so I am gonna have to place the battery. |

iriver H300 is a good replacement for the ipod photo.
if you can't find one ( 20 gig version discontinued in america), try the toshiba, which looks quite nice or the cowen iaudio x5 |

You could alway go with the Dell DJ 20 gig thaty has 12 hours of battery life and host up to 9,000 songs. There $199 at the moment, $249 after this months sale. I got the first Dell Digital Jukebox and it had a 18 hour battery life, but it is a little bigger. I do not think the sell my Dell MP3 player anymore though. Plus you can get the 2 Year CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service for $31, so if you drop it or brake it they will repair or replace it for free.
QUOTE Complete Care helps protect your device against those unpredictable little accidents that can happen around the house or on the go. It covers most non-intentional, accidental damage including electrical surges, drops and liquid spills. 6CompleteCare is a great addition to the award-winning service and support that comes with each Dell system!

i think ipods under generation 3 have the defective battery.. if i remember correctly.. oh and youre not supposed to turn on the backlight or w/e because it uses up more battery.

I've had mine for almost two years without any trouble. It's a great piece of equipment. I love my iPod so much.

Apple will replace them for free now. If you registered your iPod when you bought it, you should've gotten a letter in the mail.

I loathe iPods. Its not that they are bad, its that they aren't really the best device ever.
the original iPod Mini, the 1st gen, was 8 hours of life, but the new ones, 2nd Gen, are 18 hours of life. Lithium Ion batteris to degrade over time, however. >.> I'll let you guys guess as to why I know such things. ^.~ |

they'll usually try and sell you ipods with a warranty for 2-3 years. I haven't had trouble with my shuffle yet. Well, actually, the more songs i download on to it, it always deletes a few. It sucks to have t keep downloading just to make sure the songs get on. But, other than that, they're fine.
