everyone thinks southerners don't wear shoes and stuff. and we marry our first cousins. and we DO know what DVD players are.

and sweet tea is actually good, you know.

and our accents do not suck.

..The only sterotype I ever hear about southerners is the accent. And nothing about it being bad, but haha.. you guys are known for marrying your first cousins ? laugh.gif

i dont hate southerners. i technically am one. i do prefer the north though.

i was raised by northerners. except for some serious aggressive driving i dont think they're rude at all.
haha, my accent is all screwed up. I've lived in virginia my whole life, but both of my parents lived in new jersey forever. my cousins tease my sister and i about our accents a lot. rolleyes.gif

I don't really dislike southerners... although I find that they have a really odd taste in music. This "Dirty South" and "Crunk" music has got to go.

i don't really have that much of an accent...all i really say is Y'ALL alot but alot of people that aren't from the south say y'all....so yeah.

and i think that sweet tea is alright but sometimes they get it too sweet...like this one time i went to Louisiana(sp?) and i almost choked because i didn't know it was sweet. sick.gif

and uh...i always walk around barefoot. pinch.gif

I agree. Me and my friends talk all the time about how we want the whole dirty south/crunk phase to fell off. Its annoying when your in the club dancing to a slow jam and here comes "LETS GET CRUNK IN THIS BIOTCHHHHHH" rolleyes.gif

I think you're getting Southerners mixed up with Rednecks. Many people think southerners are rednecks, and theres a huge difference. And what's wrong with the accent? I don't have one, but I guess I'm just used to it from living in NC lol. I think when girls have that really soft sweet southern accent, it's really nice I love it. But not when they have that hard redneck accent. Then it's annoying.
