any of u guys got an overly religous family? i do

my parents are religous, but not as religous as my grandmas and aunts and uncles who i always see. and when i say overly religous i mean relatives that go to church EVERYday of the week. monday, tuesday, wednesday etc. relatives that say everythings the devil, "this movie is the devil" "that book is the devil" "your the devil!" i remember once when my cousins lost their parents, my parents offered to take them in. but my grandma and my aunt are all like "no, you dont go to to church enough we'll take them." my aunt says she has a personal relationship with jesus, like she talks to him all the time. rolleyes.gif for example, once my uncle got in a minor accident, my dad went to my grandmas house to to tell everyone. And when he told them my aunt is all like "oh! jesus told me something like this would happen!" and my dad's like "then why the hell didnt you warn him!" i like screwin with my aunts head, i would ask questions like " auntie, do you think aliens exist? i mean out of all the galaxies there has to be some life out there" and she'd be like " what galaxies? Evan that is something the DEVIL has wanted everyone to believe to steer their attention away from God" and i'll just say "oh, okay auntie" i've also been called heathen(what does that mean again?)
for having a girlfriend. and if i had a penny for everytime my aunt and grams was slain in the spirit i'd have about 2 dollars.

No, my family is not THAT religious. I'm the only one in my family who doesn't believe in God, though. >.>; My mom doesn't pray. She rarely shows that she is religious. But I know she is. So I guess you can say my family isn't a religious-mentioning family. *Shrug*
If I had a penny for everytime my mother talks about God or something, I'd probably only have 50 cents.

Nope, my mom used to go to church when I was about 4-7 and i would go with her but thats it. Now we never go to church..but my grandma is a christian and shes so religious also my grandpa. But we dont live together..I would get so pissed if we did though, they would be commenting on my clothes, the music i listen to and other stuff that would bug them.

No. My parents hardly go to church, but they force me to.
I'm glad they're not overly religious though. I am not really fond of my religion.

Haha, my friends family went with his gf's family to the movies and they were standing in line and he says "Wow, the lines really long" and her mom goes "It was God's plan for it to be this way, horrible things could have happened if it wasn't"

I don't like it though, you can't have a conversation with soemone who answers, "that's the devil" or "it was God's intentions" or "It was Gods will"

It's actually quite annoying.

When I was growing up, my family went to church at least three times a week, twice on Sunday and once on Wednesday. I moved out after I turned 18, and then I did what I wanted. I went through an agnostic phase, and now I go to mass once a week usually, occasionally I go during the week once. But, when I go visit them, I abide by their rules if I stay in their house. I feel like if you live with your parents (or really, whoever is giving you shelter and food and love) you need to abide by their rules, at least in their house. If there is something you really want to do, in most cases you'll do it ( reading in the school library, ha, I love that one, I did that!) but in their home, well, it's THEIR home, when you get your own home, you can have the rules the way YOU want them.

My two cents.

My family is really religious too, we to go church is every-day single day, even it's like victoria day, my dad will be like "i know what he can do! Let's go to church!" It use to be really annoying and I felt like I wasted all my holidays and stuff. But I don't really mind now, although something I still get a bit annoy. Once I understand my believe and want to learn more. My motive and atitudes changes...

Hm, well... it's not that my family frequents church.

It's more or less of a "THIS OR THAT WILL TAKE YOU TO THE DARK SIDE" stuff.
It annoys the living hell out of me, honestly.

Afterall, what the hell is the dark side....

If I guessed that your family was babtist, would that make me a bad person?
It just seems that babtists, REALLY DEVOTE BABTISTS, will call EVERYTHING evil.

I'm more religious than my family really, so...yea?
