people go missing everyday. people get missing kidneys or body parts. and all these happen in different countries. but why is she so important like why are there so many people after her. like i know i sound really mean right now but like i dont get why her case is so important. i hope they do find her. but its just that this case is all over. is it because its in aruba?

I hardly ever pay attention to the news, but you're right. I was wondering why she's getting all the attention when people go missing every second. I think it's probably her family, maybe they have a bit of money or something and are able to get more publicity, but it's not really my place. I know what you mean, though.

It's a perfect story for public consumption: a pretty, blonde, naïve teenaged girl goes missing on an island paradise whose yearly rapes and murders can be counted on one hand. The suspects include three rich young men, one of whom is the son of a local judicial official. Even Hollywood can't produce a better story.

i was wondering the same about why a woman getting her feeding tube pulled out was such a big deal that time too
 people don't care about things until they think it's right to..like, something could be going on forever and then a group of people get together and go "oh..hey this case isn't right! i should be who gets a say in this, no one else!" so it's automatically wrong once it becomes public. before, it never was.. |

People aren't making as big a deal about her as they were of Terry Shiavo. I think that it's such a big deal because there's nothing else too exciting going on. =X
And it's also presenting some prejudice I think, because when the 3 (Caucasian) men were interviewed, they said that they saw two African American security guards at "the hotel" and then she was gone. After having said that, the people interviewing them dismissed them and automatically arrested the two men. I'm not sure if it's racism, but I thought there was something fishy there. |

i think she just ran away and didn't wanna come back. like they were all "oh she was heading to a great college and had a great gpa blahblahblah" and i think maybe her parents pushed her to be that, and she ran away from the pressure. *nods*

She was crazy. In the caribbean there is a lot of slave trade people getting kidnapped>>getting sold>>spending life as a slave Plus. She is an american citzen. Missing in the middle of an ocean pretty much. People do go missing all the time. But there was also a case like this about 7 years back or so. Same situation sorta. 'cept she was on a cruise liner ship boat thing. No one could find her either. She's STILL missing. I highly doubt they are going to find her alive. 3 weeks or however long. She's probably dead. |

Who cares if she's dead or not? It's not going to affect our very living. I mean, the girl was being unwise and she's being punished for it. I believe Natalee is dead. Raped and murdered and thrown into the ocean; yes, morbid thoughts. At times I'm very sadistic.

lol, you probably would.
i remember a while back some little white girl went missing. she was later found, un harmed of course. ( totally blanking on her name ) i later found out that that same week a little black boy in georgie was lost in a park. his family tried desperatly to get the countries attention but to no prevail. he was found dead two weeks later.. true story. |

I think the reason why The nations media is focused on her is since the US has been banned from going to Haiti due to hostile actions toward americans, The media is trying to link those hostile actions towards her having to be missing in Aruba.. I dont think i made sense but yea
