lord voldemort???? how did that get on the list? if he was gonna die in the 6th book, whats the pont of the seventh???? and lupin isn't that big of a character. He was only in the 3rd book, then he wasa member of the order in the fith book. BIG DEAL! And about draco and snape, I don't rember J.K.Rowling writing something that cherrful before.

um...I'm guessing it will either be some new character or heromine. someone half-blood who's kindda close to harry.

[edit] I disagree with whoever that is who said harry could commit sucide if another one of his freinds died. well, hp books are depressing alot of the time.

Wow, so many people who are automatically wrong. The first thing to know is that JKR has specifically said that the person who dies was neither Harry nor Voldemort...

SOMEONE WHO KNOWS! ahha.

Personally, I'm not entirely sure who will die, but I'm not hellbent on trying to find out. Only a month until the book is released, so I've only got a month of waiting to do. But I agree with you about Prof. McGonagall. However, that's too obvious. Look at Sirius dying, for example. It wasn't expected and just completely random (well, not random.. but.. aklsjdf).

Someone mentioned at a livejournal, that Molly might possibly die. Not sure but it was one of those random spurts. I was kind of learning towards Aunt Petunia possibly dying, because it's obvious that she had to of been a witch, but chose to lead a muggle life.

As far as new DODA teacher, my guess was Tonks or Snape, who'd finally get his wish. But there had to of been some reason that he didn't make DODA the past five years (or more, prior to the book if it mentions it) so he probably won't get it the sixth year.

Never put into thought who would be the new minister of magic, but I'd presume it'd be someone that MAY have been mentioned lightly in the book, but not brought into play.

edit: i surely hope that lard ass dursley isn't the half blood prince.
i haven't been keeping up with other site's guesses, so i might be wrong.
but Aunt Petunia knows about the "other" side, and it's a possiblity she's a witch, and obviously married a muggle, which would make lard ass a half blood.

^ ohh....man if it's dudley i'll scream..

but yea. i wonder if...malfoy is half-blood..i mean, they've never mentioned his mother have they?..ya never know. mellow.gif

and i'm guessing whoever dies will be someone dear to harry, but isn't that important to the actual story..mcgonagall would be a good guess, because she doesn't really do much in the story, just is harry's friend.

i was thinking maybe ginny. and whatever happened to cho?

Malfoy is pure-blood. His mother is Narcissa, who's a cousin of Sirius. JK has mentioned her twice, once in GoF and in OotP.

^ Not only that but Malfoy absolutely hates anyone that isn't a pureblood and it also going on about being pureblood, etc.. So if you really read the books, you'd know that..

There's rumors that it will be Hagrid but I REEEALLY hope he doesn't. ;-; I love my Haggywaggy. And if someone dies again it's gonna be kinda repetitive, someone dies in like every book from the 4th... First Cedric, then Sirius, come on. Maybe it'll be no one...

It's assumed that he dies when he falls into the.. vortex of the dead, I presume.
I haven't read the fifth book in awhile, so my memory fades when trying to think of the gate he fell through. But it basically gives the assumption where he fell, noone is living there...

I think that Hagrid will die actually...not sure why, I just do. Then Lupin will die, then gradually every adult that Harry holds dear to him. ^_^ That's my theory.

With JKR, it would be difficult to have a clear idea of the next character to die. The only characters who have died so far that have been pretty close to Harry, are the people who offer him a sense of security. I have noticed that some of you disagree completely with the theory of Albus Dumbledore dying. You say he can't. Well let's face it, Dumbedore is suppose to be the only wizard that Voldemort fears and after his speach to Harry in OTF, a much stronger bond is being formed between the two. It's my belief that Voldemort will not die by the hands (or wand wink.gif ) of Harry until that sense of security (Dumbledore) has died. Let's face it, he is also very old. I'm not saying for sure that he will die in the next book, but he probably will before the end of the 7th.

My theories always change upon someone else mentioning something with a bit of a "back up" to it. Now that you mention the idea of security, it does seem likely this would happen, though like you said, in the last book.

I'd really like to hear your thoughts on who you believe will be the character to die in the upcoming book.

i hope luna lovegood dies. I hated her character. It made me think that JKR was running out of ideas and she just needed to fill some spaces in the book that couldn't connect unless one of luna's quirks were added. I was seriously disappointed with the fifth book. I almost felt like the Harry Potter books had lost their touch. almost.

I mean WTF? sirius dies by going past a stupid curtain?! for real that sh!t pissed me off. If a great chracter like sirius dies, at least give him a glorious death... not by freakin sliding through a curtain!

argh. I'm getting too angry so I better stop. ugh. I'm so mad at JKR.

The plot of the story was too long for Luna to have been..."just a fill in". Her character played a role that many would consider to be important. Her father operated the news paper that ran Harry's interview. That interview itself helped convince many other students that Harry's story could be, in fact, true. Also, her character was was just introduced and we do not yet know the importance of her role in the books to come. In a book "series", it is not wise to jump to conclusions about the introduction of a new character until the series is complete.
As far as Serius is concerned; the idea of the curtain has left many options open for his character. Dumbledore himself said that he was gone, but we all know that he does not always reveal information until the time is right. It all seems to fall into place at the right time. If you notice, it did not show Serius' actual death. The curtain itself is still a mystery to Harry, and judging from past experiences with Harry, it will be something that will be given much thought in the rest of the series. It gives us readers much to think about and makes us yearn to keep reading to find out. Mark my words; I do not know for sure that Serius is still alive somehow (he might not be), but that curtain plays an important part for the books to come.

Have you even really read the Harry Potter books?

Luna's character may not have seemed like a crucial character, but she was in fact important. Everything in a book is important to it; Things are not just made to "fill some spaces."

Also, about how Sirius dies, not all characters need to die in a noble or glorious way. Honestly, there's obviously more to the "curtain" than what was written about. It's not like this is going to be the last of the books; There's obviously going to be alot of talk about how Sirius died in the next book, and maybe a futher and more in depth discussion about that 'curtain.'

Honestly now, there's no reason to get upset or something so trite and mundane.
