we had a small batch of freshies this year;

had quite a few under 5'0'', and then some under 4'10'' these are guys we're talking about.

some of the freshie girls did look rather hot... (they're probably very immature tho...)

but it's usually hard to tell who's a freshman and who isn't.

i don't see what's so scary about high school. i'm also going to be a freshman in august, but the only thing i'm worried about is how i'm going to stay organized. we have no school supply list. wacko.gif

so, experienced people, how much room does your largest subject usually take in centimeters/inches?

hm, and i heard that we were going to be required to use our lockers this year. ermm.gif i'm locker challenged.

I don't think anyone will mess with you in freshman year. Just be proud that your one.

be proud that you've survived, not the be proud and stamp freshman on your forehead - or tshirt, like many of the rather idiotic girls at my future school have done.

like, omgzors, you're finally a high school fishie.

don't drown yourselves and the rest of our brains before we've gotten to the school, please.

A tip:
Once you're done with a unit, DO NOT throw your papers away and DO NOT keep them in your binder. You'll need them for exams (especially classes like math and chemistry and history) and if you keep them in your binder/folder, it's a waste of space. FILE them away or something. With only one or so units in your folder, it should take up like less than a centimeter of space, unless your teacher is crazy and gives you a million worksheets or else just really thick packets.

i got through the beginning of freshman year without most people knowing that i was actually a freshman. i played jv/varsity sports so i hung out with upperclassmen and everyone assumed i was a soph or junior. yeaaa, freshman year was fun.

Um, when you ask around for directions. Make sure you ask someone nice, so they don't dump you in the trashcan.
And always carry a map of the school with you. This year (my frehsman year) I got lost during the second week of school -.- yeah, horrible sense of direction here.

i'm with you, only I'm going to be a soph (dont ask, i have a weird school). It's especially scary when you are really really short. ermm.gif

I was (am, actually) really short, and that didn't make too much difference. Except for random people still thinking I was a frosh when I was a senior. XP

But then, I wasn't very scared, because I was in band so I already had 80-some people I could ask for help (that, and we were on campus months before school started for band camp, so it became a familiar campus). Moral: Join band. :P

i thought it was scary last year, but it's really not. people in high school are much nicer and more mature than people in middle school..it was a lot better for me. all grades are friends with everyone..it's like just one big group.

don't be too scared, once you start you'll be fine. _smile.gif

I live in Texas and attend a school of 3500+. Being that its Texas, there's a large amount of 16 and 17 year old kids that look like full grown adults. Whats strange is that the freshman who come in each year, look no older than 11.

And for this reason, you mind your business. I've never shoved anyone in a locker, but I have put a fish in a trashcan because he thought he was tough enough to be on varsity (football) when he tipped the scale at 115lbs.

Don't be that fish.

I just finished my freshman year, don't worry too much about it, do your work, study, stay out of upper classmates' way, and be urself in you OWN class, so that ur not shunned when u try to get involved in sophmore year.

However, when ur in upperclassmates' company, careful and I suggest just shutting up, do NOT be yourself in that situation, keep as low a profile as possible in that situation.

It's not as bad as it's made out to be, don't worry! happy.gif

i have mixed emotions about entering high school next year. im sad because some of my friends aren't going to the same school as me, and im happy because it's a new chapter in my life and i'll be able to meet loads of new people, make new friends, and NEW GUYS! (that's what im looking forward to the most) I'm just scared that i'm not going to be able to find my way around the first week or so.

Haha, well, in the end, he and I became pretty close friends and I looked out for him throughout high school.

He was thrown in the trashcan for saying, "Man, I'm the best runningback this school will ever see. Yo Saunders! I'm takin ya spot!"

Seriously future fishes, there's nothing to fear if you don't do anything stupid. Or who knows, you can do something stupid and make a good friend out of it. wink.gif

no, justin..our school is closer than others, yes, but you can be intergrade friends.

i mean sure, some people tease you but it's all in fun..people will only bully you if you are outright annoying and immature. don't make it apparent you're a freshie and you'll have no problems. a lot of people thought i was a soph or junior last year just cause i didn't act like a little kid.

and yea, dooooon't procrastinate. your freshman year is likely to be your hardest. if there's a binder, you put those papers in. don't think you'll do it when the teacher says it's gonna be due in two days. that won't work. keep your binders up. do all of your homework. missing even one assignment can be the difference between a B and a C.
