so those who don't like it won't go there. we can't stop people from going to the lounge anymore than we can stop people from going in the sex education forum. it's the same as any other forum, just a different topic.

ahem.

This may prove to be tedious, but if it was possible to generate a link to all members who are above a certain age, which if clicked, would mean they accept the TOS of the sex education forum, and would add them to a hidden membergroup.

This member group would be the only group (and of course admin, staff, etc) to have access to the sex education forum.

This would ensure that all members have agreed to the TOS (or just basically saying they know the content of the site, and whatnot) and also include the age verifyer. However..

The only way to be sent this "invite," is being in the proper minimum age to post at the subforum.

Difficult, probably.

edit// you guys type hella fast stubborn.gif

there will be ignorance and immaturity in the sex forum but every forum has those kind of members. we got people talking about pool brushing in lounge, people asking for songs in entertainment and people asking for naked pictures in pictures... if your main reason for not wanting a sex forum is because of ignorant and immature members, then forums shouldnt exist

okay i dont know if that made sense once again... vote for basick

it's more complicated than that. some people's parents know about cb. my mom found cb. i got punished for being on cb, so if she were to find a sex forum on cb, shed think shed been proved correct, even though shes taught me about sex, know people my age have it and tells me about things she did in her 20s. the point is that this is still not an appropriate place for it

I understand where you're coming from with that. So then maybe we should make is sort of like backstage... only visible to some members?

but not everyone is mature. there are plenty of immature people who are sexually actie, just as there are people who are mature who haven't. you can't control the way people phrase things

^ exactly. (this is ^ing to steven) it would be controlled like any other forum. if we can have forum separation between digital art and pictures, why not sex education and other forums? there will no more immaturity than in other forums. those who can deal with the topics elsewhere won't be any more offended if they're put somewhere else.

this will separate them, so those made uncomfortable with the topics WILL NOT HAVE TO SEE OR READ THEM. just because the forum's there does not mean people have to go in. and for those who are curious, that's great! they can go in if they want! i don't understand why anyone would go in it if they don't want to. no one would. it would be just like any other forum but with a different topic..younger members won't go there if they don't want to..it's not like it's gonna have a blinking light like "GO HERE NOW AND READ EVERYTHING IN HERE NO MATTER WHAT AGE YOU AREEEEE XXX HARDCORE PORN YEAAAA"

and nicki, just cause you got punished doesn't mean it shouldn't be there..delete your history and don't leave it open if it's such a big deal. if your mom doesn't want you on cb.....is that our fault? is it jusun's fault for creating it?

See, that's the only part that would honestly prove difficult.
There are people who are sixteen, but act five.

There are people who are fourteen, who act twenty.

I suppose a general consesus of the community can be taken (basically the people who post the most) to find out that answer.

Personally, I'd give the age minimum to be fourteen/fifteen.
Even though it should be 17/18, but it's not porn/nudity related, so fourteen would probably be best.

if we did that, i actually might not mind that much

just for it to be open to the general public with as many members/lurkers as we have wouldn't be good

but, you say its ok to hav esimilar topics in the locker rooms.

which, by spreading them into 'safer' topics, makes them far more exposed to members who dont want to see that

by sperating them, yes, you acknowledge sex exists by creating a subforum (oh WOE), but you're actually making it far easier for members who dont like it to avoid

If it was made available to a certain membergroup (though I don't even think IB allows a user to be in two usergroups at once..? I could be wrong!), then maybe the easiest way would be to create a sticky in the announcements, where users can post a simple "i'd like to have access."

That way users are agreeing that they understand what the forum is for, and are agreeing to whatever else should be added. This would also make it easier to see who would get access, because mods/admin would be able to view the profile, quickly see their age, and their latest posts.

basick, must you add the annoying "vote for basick," every time you post?

i seriously think we need to find a wy to allow some to see it and some not. because then i'll completely back down and allow it, becuasee to be honest, i'm just as curious as the next person, i just don't think this is the best place to make it public

ohoh, read read! :)

I agree with.. Sammie, right? If I'm wrong, I apoligize, about excluding one year. It does seem sort of useless, but like I said, the whole age part would prove to be the difficult part of the idea.

You're referring to Elba's two links.
There's a difference between two links to a site that isn't even hers nor help her out in anyway, and "vote for basick," which promotes, well.. you.
