Since my point has been driven into the ground by several open-minded posters in this thread, I'll cut the fat to avoid redundancy.

People listen to Marilyn Manson, get over it and a get a life.

i have nothing against manson, but i wont listen to him, no matter how curious i may become, but im not saying there's anything bad about listening to him. when people start wanting to imitate him and his lyrics, that's what sickens me.

Would you mind ellaborating on which lyrics are being imitated and what has happened in our country as a result of his music? Since you made the statement, I'm under the impression that you can provide concrete evidence to support it. stubborn.gif

oh sry, i shouldnt have left my opinion up in the air like that without expounding upon it. well, actually i shouldnt have said that i would never listen to him because i actally have. my curiousity does and has gotten the best of me. anyway, as far as the lyrics are concerned, i had heard one song that talks about slitting your wrist, though the title of the song escapes me (yeah i know not very substantial but i'll try and find out). believe it or not, there are some people who have a desire to find themselves and have curiousities (i hope i spelled that right) that run so wildly that they'll try anything just to know what it's like. some people actually have been influenced by music, and not just manson is responsible for this. almost every music maker can be blamed for their music. but it depends on the person and whether or not he/she will allow those lyrics to influence him/her into mimicking or imitating what they hear. if i left anything out (besides the title of that song), please feel free to tell me.

I find his music unappealing, but that holds no bars in my mind on anyone that enjoys it.

That's just outright narrow-mindedness, as Brandon said.

I don't get why people say is it alright for me to listen (put artist or band here) if i am a (whatever religion here). I don't get that. Music is just music. It does not send subliminal(sp) messages or whatever in it. I hate it when people say a band or singer is a devil-worshipper because of their videos, lyrics, or image. I, myself, don't really like Marilyn Manson. His music is terrible. I like stuff like Christian death(and no they are not a satanic band.)
