PHOBIA? Options

youre not the only 16 year old who's still afraid of the dark so no worries. sometimes i shut my light off when i sleep but sometimes i dont which is at times when im scared enough to have the light on. i dont know what i can tell you to get rid of it though..getting rid of fears are challenging unless you have the guts to survive like 1 hour in the dark at night to get used to it.

i have phobias of cuts(paper,razor,etc) spiders, and those annoying scratch sounds.

you wanna know my weirdest phobia?

circles... not a single circle but a group of circles. i find it disgusting!

I scared of tight spaces, heights, insects, lightining, the dark, being alone, pain, bees, failure, imperfection, water (ocean, large bodies of water), needles, dentists, and vomiting.

I think I have Anablephobia (Fear of looking up). If I stand next to a tall building and look up, I feel like Im gonna fall down.

Other than that, Im not afraid of anything.

I have the EXACT same phobia, yet I'm not afraid of heights.

i think my fears are really dumb..and no one may be able to respond to this in time , but how can i supress my fear of getting a shot, i must get a tetnis(sp?) shot when my mom gets here, she is a nurse. I am deathly afraid of needles and i nearly pass out when i see or have to get a shot! does anyone else have this prob?

my old house was haunted, so i was afraid of the dark till a few months ago. but sometimes i still get antsy an i have to put on my nitelite sometimes

yeah I have that problem, except its not passing out its more like hyperventilating(bad sp i know) and crying.

I also have a phobia of disappointing people. I know its horrible, but thats why I cry if my gpa is anything other than 4.0! I feel so nerdy when I say that, but its true.

i have two phobias
im really scraed of gettin bugs on me cuz i get paranoid cuz io think they are crwaling on me and

I don't have any phobias, but I understand how you're afraid of the dark. On random nights, I just feel paranoid because I swear there are ghosts in my house. I saw one in one of my rooms and my brother's friend, when he came over said he saw something similar. I thought it was a small boy funning on all fours, but his friend said he saw a dog. Don't fret.

The only way to get rid of a phobia is to stand up to it and live a whole night without the light on. Then ease into it and do it every night.

when im home alone i get really paranoid im super afraid of burglars
and rapers/stalkers. if i see some guy somewhere who looks weird i just get freaked out =/

I've got a friend who was scared of the dark.
Her mom then bought her a lamp which you can change the brightness and she got rid of the phobia by turning the lamp dimmer and dimmer each day.
I'm not sure whether this will work for you though.
Btw, one of my biology teacher is scared of root.

I'm VERY scared of the dark. Sometimes, my mom tells me to turn off the lights in the house. So I turn it off , then I think that someone's running after me so I immediately run back to my room. HEHE .. then sometimes i Have to take out the trash, and I come running back because i think that someone's out to get me. All of these things were at night. O_O

i dont think its sad that yu stil need a night light. Its just you. Everyone has some sort of thing that there afraid of. Im afraid of.. dying before i get to say goodbye to people and not acomplishing my goals
