Yea, I respect a few of them. Others who think I'm stupid because I'm a teen...no respect for them.

Uh. I wouldn't say 'torture and ignore them.'
But I definitely respect my elders. I'm even sympathetic towards them. I mean. They seem so. Fragile or something. |

For starters, I'm down with the Sith.
I'm a realist and I look at life from a realistic perspective. Wisdom does not come from age, wisdom comes from experience. If someone 10 years your senior has been around the block more than you have, it might be best to listen to what they have to say. Moving, age does not warrant respect. Just because you're 21 and someone else is 40, that doesn't mean you should respect them as a person. They could be shadier than slim and have a track record of using and decieving people. Or, they could be sop ignorant as to the ways of the world that their stupidity is just plain offensive. Whoa, thats a muthaf--kin' contradiction, Brandon! Yes, yes I know. The common ground would be to be a human being. Always take heed to an elder. If they're wrong, politely shrug it off. If they deliberately disrespect you, then politely set the record straight. Be polite in whatever you do and it ceases to be blatant disrespect. |
