I carry books, my laptop, my ipod mini, toothbrush/hairbrush/ect., cell phone, notebook, and that sort of stuff. Good topic.

I've never been on a plane before, but can anyone answer my question: Are you allowed to talk on your phone while on the airplane? Someone told me that they might take it away--Is that the same for all airplanes if they do take it away, or just selected ones?
*

You aren't allowed to use any personal electronic devices (laptops, ipods, ect.) until the plane hits a certain amount of feet above the ground and levels off. Then they come on the intercom, and says it is okay to use them.

Now cell phones you are not allowed to use on planes at all, once the plane is getting ready to fly. It doesn't really matter anyway, because there is NO reception in a plane. You are above the towers, so it searches for service and never finds it. Yeah... I forgot and turned my phone on while coming back from NY, so I know from personal experience. :P They do have phones on the plane that you can pay to use, but the prices are insane. Like $4.00 connection fee and $3.00 a minute. Crazy.

The same is true for all airlines.

my cell, music, books, pen and paper, toiletries.

the reason you cant talk on cells is that it fucks with the panes navigation system. some planes have built in phones on them for use during emergencies, but they're incredibly expensive
